"It's a very dangerous state. You are inclined to recklessness and kind of tune out the rest of your life and everything that's been important to you. It's actually not all that pleasurable. I don't know who the hell wants to get in a situation where you can't bear an hour without somebody's company."
-----------------------------------
Baelfire and I stood up quickly, both our skins loosing our color from fear. An actual pirate, and not just any pirate. Captain Hook. I felt my body freeze up, even if I wanted to run I couldn't. Fear had taken over my body, and I could do nothing but stand there. Stand there, waiting for the consequences.
"Y-You're....Y-You're..." I finally attempted to speak out to him, but nothing was really coming out.
"Killian Jones. But most people know me from my more color alias. Hook. Captain Hook." He said, bringing his hook to my face and dragging the edge of it across my cheek. It almost left a bruise there, I swear it.
"L-Leave her alone." Baelfire said to him, making my eyes widen. What was this boy doing? Was he trying to get us kidnapped? Or worse, killed? His words drew Hook's attention to him, Hook smirking a little. He was obviously amused by Baelfire's bravery, it was like watching a rabbit about to challenge a bear. And Baelfire was the rabbit.
"Look at you, standing up for you woman like that." Hook said to Baelfire, walking closer to him.
"I said leave her alone." Baelfire repeated.
"Oh, I know what you said." Hook said to him, hovering over him know, using his height to his advantage.
"I just chose to ignore it." Hook whispered to him, he was clearly not taking Baelfire seriously. Hook drew his attention back to me and walked to my direction. And that's when it happened.
"I said NO!" Baelfire yelled, suddenly grabbing the pirate's sword from his scabbard and hitting Hook in the back with it. Hook groaned at the pain and I ran past him, making my way to Baelfire and hugging him to me closely.
"It's okay. I've got you. I'll always have you." He whispered to me softly, kissing my cheek gently, trying to comfort me. I blushed and nuzzled my face into his neck gently, taking in his scent. Pine and peppermint, an odd combination of scent..but for some reason it fit him well. Hook turned at us and was looked as if he was to cause us harm, until Baelfire pointed the sword at him, barely touching Hook's neck.
"Take us to the mainland, and you are to forget this ever happened." Baelfire said in a voice that, although was protective and brace, sounded so...controlling and commanding. The voice that was suppose to maybe impress me or comfort me had instead frightened me a bit. Hook walked over to the steering wheel as Baelfire followed him with the sword, watching his every move. I stood there, not knowing what to do. I hated that, the feeling of ignorance.
"What shall I do, Baelfire?" I asked softly, embarrassed that I had to ask what to do. Was it boredom? Or was it I just hated woman being expected to stand there and look pretty? Baelfire bit his lip a little and stood silent for a second. Then he smiled at me.
"You can lift the anchor. My strong young woman can handle that yes?" He asked me, making me blush and smile, nodding my head and running to the anchor. I picked it up with all my might as Baelfire instructed Hook to take us home and never look twice at us again. After I was done with my job, Hook started steering us back to the mainland. I smiled as I watched the sky some more. Today was a good day, I mean we had almost been killed by a filthy pirate but...I mean he wasn't bad looking. After about a couple of minutes, we arrived at the shore, both Baelfire and I ran off the ship and didn't even bother to look back at the ship to see if Hook was following us. We went straight into the forest and on the trail to my cottage. Our heavy breathing made us stop a few step from the house and we looked at each other.
"I-I'm sorry, I-I am so sorry-" Baelfire looked like he hated himself.
"I-I put you in danger and-"
"Baelfire.." I whispered out softly.
"I let the nasty pirate threaten you with his hook-" he continues, making me sigh.
"Bae..." I said to him, trying to make him stop and relax, but it wasn't working.
"I wouldn't have forgiven myself if he would've hurt you-" I stopped his rambling in a way that I thought I would never have to do to a boy. I had kissed the boy I was falling in love with. I had kissed Baelfire. And you know what? I didn't regret a single thing, because he kissed me back.
