On Monday we would be catching the train back to the muggle world, but on Saturday and Sunday we could go to Hogsmeade if we wanted. I decided I wanted to. I hadn’t been to Hogsmeade since the first weekend. I walked down with Coralline, Tain and Roxus.

“What are you doing for the holidays Roxus?” Coralline asked.

“Um, I’m helping my Aunt and Uncle in their library.” He said. “What about you?”

“My Mum is taking me to Paris!” She exclaimed, obviously waiting for someone to ask her.

“Wow! That’s so cool!” He replied and I rolled my eyes.

“Make sure you bring back some pics of cute boys, my sisters will go spastic!” I laugh.

“So what are you doing-.” Suddenly Roxus stopped talking and moving.

I heard some laughing from behind us and turned to see the one and only, Samuel Rover, wand in hand and smirk on face. The Ravenclaw student was leaning on a tree with his three followers behind him. Naomi and Jaime Scott, the blonde twins and Ray Towny, who also had his wand out. I turned and saw that Tain was frozen as well.

“Rover!” I glared at the tall ginger boy.

“Yes Cole?” He asked sneering.

“Leave Tain and Roxus alone!” I growled.

“Sure, if you go out with me?” He asked smirking.

“HA! I would rather be buried six feet under!” I yelled and Coralline and I took our wands out.

“Expelliarmus!” I heard two voices speak as one and both Coralline and I dropped our wands.

I gave my best glare to the Scott’s; apparently it was pretty good because they flinched. I glanced around for my wand and saw it by a tree about two or three metres away. I glanced at Coralline and she nodded, telling me that she had hers in sight as well. Suddenly we both dived for our wands. As soon as my wand was in my hand I yelled the first spell that came to mind.

“Expelliarmus!” Instead of hitting Rover it hit one of the Scott’s.

I glared at them as the other Scott disarmed me… again… I looked at Coralline and saw a smile spread over her face. Me, knowing exactly what she had in mind, smiled back. Coralline put her wand in her back pocket.

“Alright, alright… I’ll go out with you Rover.” I said standing up and raising my hands.

The boy grinned and they lowered their wands, letting Tain and Roxus go.

The boy’s victory was short lived as Coralline and I suddenly charged forwards. I let the tingling flow over my body and soon I was in my tigress form and I had tackled Rover to the ground and I jumped off him and took down the other Scott while Tain and Roxus had their wands out and pointed to the group of Ravenclaw’s. I looked over to Coralline in her black wolf form. I trotted over to her and we changed back. I grinned at her.

“Since when have you both had your Animagi?” Tain asked pouting.

“Uh, I’ve had mine since you saw it in class, and Coralline had me tutoring her in our free time.” I smiled at him before turning to see that the Ravenclaw’s were gone.

I shrugged it off and turned around only to receive a snow ball to the face. It dropped away and I saw a black haired boy standing there with his fellow Quidditch team.

“I didn’t realise you had an Animagi.” Potter said smirking. “Although I must admit it was surprising. How long have you had that?”

“Since Thursday.” I replied wiping the remnants of snow from my face.

“Oh, impressive.” He said smirking before throwing another snowball my way.

I ducked and scooped up one of my own before sending it his way. Basically there was an all-out snowball fight, 7 against 4. I wonder who won? Soon we were all drenched in water and we decided to cancel the trip to Hogsmeade as we wanted to get back and get changed. I decided to walk at the back of the group and watched as the Gryffindor’s got used to the fact that not all Slytherin's were bad. James was near the front talking to Tain, Roxus was, as usual, ignoring everyone and reading, and Coralline was, obviously, flirting with one of the fourth years. I smiled to myself as I watched the group of Gryffindor’s befriend the Slytherin’s… who would’ve thought huh?

“Avril!” Mrs Potter cried out when she was her two sons, husband and a brunette girl climb out of the blue car. “James, Albus!”

“Harry!” Mr Potter joined in, arms opening wide.

“Yea, thanks Mum, Cole’s before Potter’s.” James mumbled before being swept into a hug by her mother and instantly pulling away and muttering something I couldn’t quite catch ad walking inside the house.

Mrs Potter then proceeding to hug Albus, who wasn’t as resistant. Lily Potter skipped out and saw me. When I had been training with Mr Potter she had grown rather attached to me, so evidently, Lily dashed over and hugged me, tackling me to the ground. I heard laughter all around, and I was laughing at the small red heads energy. Somehow, I was able to get up after Mrs Potter mentioned chocolate chip biscuits and Lily scrambled off, after the biscuits. Albus helped me us and gave me a tour of the house, starting with the kitchen, where Mrs Potter gave me some of the biscuit batter, which, might I add was DELICIOUS!!! Then Al took me us stairs, passing James’s room, where he was lying on his bed and scribbling on a piece of paper before giving it to an owl. Al then showed me his room where I found he had a huge obsession over the Chudley Cannons, and he proceeded to explained about how his uncle took him to his first match. The last place he showed me was the room I would be staying in for the next two weeks.

That night I was sitting with Mizo in my room and looking around my walls. I had found a book on the dark arts, and defence against them, when I found them I search up animal whisperers and I found something about Tom Marvolo Riddle, a man who could talk to snakes. He was an evil man who started a war with the ministry of magic and he was what people call, parselmouth’s. Like me… I looked for all known parselmouth’s and found a few. All were direct descendants of Salazar Slytherin, the founder of Slytherin, except one or two… so where did I fit in? Mizo had been watching me while I read and slipped out of her enclosure.

“Are you alright Avril?” She asked as she made her way over to me.

“Um yeah, just, I don’t get how I fit in here… but then again, for all I know I could be one of these guys kids. But that guy Voldemort is dead, and he died long before I was born, and so did all the rest of them… So why can I speak parseltongue?” I replied sighing.

“I don’t know, but I do know you will figure it out Avril, you’re a smart girl.” Mizo said happily.

“Yeah, I don’t know, I mean it’s not just snakes, I’ve searched high and low but I can’t find a person who can talk to other animals… It’s annoying about how I’m so different. I can’t even talk to anyone about it.” I said lying back on my bed and looking to my ceiling.

“You know, being parselmouth isn’t all that bad.” I jumped seeing Mr Potter standing in my door frame. “I used to be one, but that’s a story for another time.”

“You were one? How come you’re not in the book?” I asked lifting the dark arts book I was reading.

“It’s an old book.” He said simply. “How long have you been one might I ask?”

“Ever since I can remember.” I replied. “But it’s not just snakes.”

“Really, what other animals can you converse with?” He asked sitting on the edge of my bed.

“Any really, but I haven’t been able to find one on it.” Mr Potter frowned.

“Not that I should be recommending it, but check out the restricted section at the library.” He said and a thoughtful look came over his face. “Or, Hermione would probably know, she’s read almost every book in the library, so if anyone knows it’s her, you can ask her on Christmas if you want.”

I nodded and he left telling me dinner was almost ready.
