~James~

Dad decided that on Christmas Eve we’d have a movie night, for whatever reason I don’t understand, but I guess that’s what muggle families do. We never did it before, so I’m guessing either A: Avril told him about it because she might have done it with her family, or B: He was trying to make us look like we were a happy family thing. So yea, here we are in the nearby Blu-ray rental shop and Loony Lily was practically hanging off Avril’s arm. Avril looked very… nice… today, although I would never admit it. Her hair was tied up in a high ponytail, her house colours running through it. Another thing I would never admit is that the colours really brought out her eyes. They were a bright green, like dads, but brighter. I was standing over in the action section, and every now and again I would steal a glance over the Blu-Ray racks and see her gold-brown hair bobbing up and down as she walked through the kids section. I heard her suddenly turn to Lily and ask something.

“Who’s Lily Evans?” She asked and I felt my face heat up.

Damn you Tommy Jordan! I thought as I remembered when he mentioned how Avril might as well have been her, and Avril remembered.

“Lily Evans is my grandma.” Lily replied happily and Avril dropped the Blu-Ray she was holding. “And did you now James was named after our grandpa.”

Avril had just picked the Blu-Ray only to drop it again. Tommy, I’m going to kill you! I mentally made a to-do list and he was at the top. Avril glanced back at me, blushing furiously. I looked away and busied myself with finding a good movie I could watch tonight on my lap-top while dad sneaks down stairs as ‘Santa’. I glanced over at Avril again, but she was gone. I glanced around looking for her, when a voice behind me made me jump.

“Lost something?”

“Eh, Avril… um, hi.” I stuttered. “You, ah, you surprised me.

She raised an eyebrow at me.

“Hmm, fancy that, me, Avril Cole, could surprise you, the mighty James Potter.” She smirked.

“Mighty James Potter?” I grinned. “You think I’m mighty, Avril thinks I’m mighty. Wait, Avril thinks!?!?!”

“Oh shut up show off.” She said her smirk faltering.

“Or what wanna be.” I replied.

“Know it all.”

“Dumb-.”

“James.” Opps, Dad. “Pick a movie.”

I quickly grabbed the nearest zombie movie- Zombieland-, took it up to dad at the counter and they left.

“What movie did you get Avril?” Albus asked walking along beside her.

“Shrek.” She said like it was the most obvious thing ever.

“What’s Shrek?” I wouldn’t admit it but, I was curious as well.

“What? You don’t now Shrek!?!? You have yet to live!” She exclaimed stopping for a second before continuing walking towards the car.

“So, what’s Shrek?” I asked, curiosity burning through me.

Avril laughed, but didn’t answer.

“Oh come on!!!” I grumbled, slumping into the front seat.

“Oh, but it’s fun making you squirm.” She replied, still laughing.

“Avril, come on, tell us.” Even Dad was interested.

“It’s a twist on fairy tales. An ogre, Shrek, is the main character, and it’s a comedy. I loved it as a kid, and you know how there are some movies that are just so amazing that you can’t forget.” She explained. “But, I’m not saying anything else though. It’ll give it away.”
