Lucy POV
It's been two weeks since everything happened and I was in hospital. I finally get to go home today and I'm so excited to be in my own bed and not have things sticking out of me all the time. I almost can't remember what my room looks like. The nurses walked in with a clipboard and pen. 'Can you please sign these release forms for Lucy?' The nurse asked, Mum signed the forms and so did Dad. I got changed into normal clothes and out of my hospital gown, it felt weird to have real clothes on again.
** At home **
We arrived home and parked the car in the garage. We saw all these little signs with arrows pointing up the stairs so I followed them kinda confused. All the kids, my cousins and aunts and uncles stood there with a 'welcome home' banner and yelled 'welcome home Lucy.' I was taken back and started crying and hugging everyone. Mum asked 'why are you crying? Don't you like it?'
'Of course I do, I love it! I just never realised I was loved this much and people actually care about me' I replied. Now Mum started crying and hugging me because of what I had said. When I was living in the orphanage nobody cared about me, people would only want the little kids and the cute ones, sadly I was neither. My whole life changed when the Shaytards walked through the door. I actually enjoy life now and I'm not just saying that because of who I live with but because I feel genuinely loved and cared for. I don't have to worry about impressing anyone because people are already impressed with me.
Carlie's POV
Lucy started balling her eyes out once she saw us all, but it was honestly the least we could do. She has changed all our lives and made us look at life differently. Although I love her to bits I hated her right now because my mascara was running down my face, but she started crying first. I love how much she appreciates family. It makes me think that I have just taken it for granted all my life. I think I can safely say for all of us she has changed our perspectives on life. As the saying goes 'People change people' (Girl Meets World reference) and she has definitely changed me.
