Competition Chaos

A/N: Hey guys! This chapter is based on the competition and not the relationship.This isn't the nationals competition btw. ENJOY! :)

  Kalani was getting ready backstage she was extremely nervous. This was the very first competition her step dad was going to be. Maia wasn't doing a solo this week because Abby says its best for her to take a break so Maia was watching the solos from the wings. The pressure on Kalani is a lot for her. She doesn't want to upset her dad, the team, her mom, or Abby. 

As Maia was watching Kalani dance beautifully she almost forgot. Maia could tell because Kalani kind of slowed down her turn but then she did her leap and everything turned out great. She got a standing ovation from mostly everyone. 

When Kalani walked off the stage she looked like she was about to cry so she went straight to Maia. Maia hugged Kalani.

Maia whispered, "It's okay.. shhh.. you were amazing!"

Kalani said tearing up, "No I wasn't. I fell out of my turn and I almost forgot my solo."

Maia whispered slightly loud, "No Kalani you were amazing. You looked fabulous out there! 

Kalani kept saying, "No I wasn't. I was sucky. Abby is going to kill me."

Maia told her, "No she's not. I forgot my solo. Maddie forgot her solo. Kenzie forgot her solo.We've all done it. Shhhhh its okay."

They walked back to their dressing room and Abby hugged her. Maia smiled at Kalani and walked to where her mom was so she could get ready for the group dance. Maia was doing her hair. She made sure her hair was secure. Her mom put in the hair piece and made sure it was sewed in her head. 

When they finished their dance they got ready for the awards. Kalani placed first and so did the group. The ALDC team was on  a roll. They're on  a winning streak. Abby loved it. All the girls went back to their dressing rooms.

Jill said, "So Kalani didn't you fall out of your turn during your solo?"

Kalani said looking down, "You know I really don't want to talk about it okay?"

Jill told Kalani, "Yeah and you almost tripped?"

Kira said to Jill, "Jill just shut up! Kalani says she doesn't want to talk about it so stop brining it up."

Ellie told Jill, "Jill. Kalani was amazing out there okay? She was perfectly fine."

Jill shouted at Ellie, "SHUT UP! KENDALL IS A MUCH BETTER DANCER THAN YOUR KID."

Kendall nodded in agreement with her mom. 

Maia said, "Um excuse me! Her kid has a name! AND WHO ASKED FOR YOUR INPUT ON WHO THE BETTER DANCER WAS!?"

Jill shouted at Maia, "Honey you don't talk to a grown up like that! Kendall has all the technique you don't have!"

Abby told Jill, "That's not true. I think Maia is an amazing dancer. She has amazing technique."

Jill shouted, "YOU KNOW WHAT KENDALL HAS THAT MAIA DOESN'T?! A DAD!!!"

Holly told the girls to get out. Maia already ran out crying. Maia's dad walked out on them when she was 6. 

Kalani pulled Maia into a hug and said, "She's just doing this to make you look bad."

Maia was sobbing. She didn't like the topic about her dad being brought up. Mackenzie was hugging Maia. She was saying how an adult shouldn't talk to a kid like that. Mackenzie was crying because she saw Maia crying. 

Maia said still crying, "What kind of person brings that stuff up? She doesn't know me. She doesn't know my family!"

Kalani told Maia she could sleepover. Maia told her mom and she said okay. Maia just walked to Kalani's house. 

Maia said to Kalani, "So I'm not allowed to talk to Kendall or Jill."

"GOOD! BECAUSE KENDALL WASN'T OUT THERE TO COMFORT YOU! SHE WAS IN THAT ROOM NODDING AND AGREEING WITH HER MOM!" Kalani said almost yelling.

"Yeah and as far as I'm concerned she was acting like the victim when HER MOM was yelling AT ME!" Maia stated.

Maia and Kalani posted on Instagram pictures of the sleepovers. The spammed Snapchat. Maia got a call from Kendall. She didn't answer it. She also got a call from Jill but she didn't answer it. Kalani rolled her eyes. Maia got a text from both Jill and Kendall apologizing. Maia didn't bother opening it.
