"Good morning (Y/N)!"Mark clapped his hands together loudly near your face, causing you to panic and swing out wildly, hitting him with a hard upper cut to the nose. "I'm so sorry!" You apologized as you hastily fumbled with the straps that held you in place and ran over to him once you were free. He had reeled back a little and was holding his nose, blood dripping down his blank white t-shirt. "It's fine, just a broken nose." He waved me off with a pained reassuring smile, then stumbled off to where we had a small barely equipped first aid kit that I had found buried in the bottom of my bag. Caleb walked past him, then glanced over at me in confusion. "What happened to him?" "I kind of accidentally...punched him in the face." You cringed in embarrassment. Caleb snorted in amusement, but said nothing as he dug through the pile of various supplies that we had scrounged up from around the ship and dumped in the center of the room. He retrieved a small sky blue hairbrush and started to brush his hair as he walked back out. You considered grabbing breakfast and getting ready for the day, but decided to check on Mark first. "You have one hell of a punch." He remarked as you sat down by him on the floor. He had a rainbow bandage taped horizontally across the bridge of his nose and he was pressing a crimson stained tissue to his nose. "Sorry about that." You apologized again, blushing a bright red. "Hey," He gently lifted your chin up so you were looking him in the eyes. "It's okay. Really. Just remind me to not to wake you up like that ever again." He joked. Your blush deepened as you smiled back. Suddenly, Mark leaned forward and gave you a kiss on the lips that seemed to last forever. You closed your eyes in content and leaned into the kiss. He then broke off, put on his suit and helmet, then ran out the door, leaving you sitting stunned on the floor, wondering if you had imagined the kiss or not. "I just keep popping up at the wrong moment." Caleb grinned with a shake of his head as he walked in and leaned on the wall by where you were sitting. "Where is he going?" I asked, staring at the door Mark had left through. "No clue." Caleb shrugged, then retreated back to the corner of the ship where we had set up a mirror and bathroom supplies. You went back to your bed, grabbed your suit off of the floor and helmet, then followed after Mark. You found him being held by the throat and pinned to the ground by Samantha, but she wasn't wearing a helmet or suit. "What the..." You breathed in shock and cautiously stepped back towards the door. Samantha turned towards you, her eyes blood red, then charged towards you, hate glinting in her eyes as she tackled you to the dusty ground, knocking the breath out of you. Samantha raised her fist over your head and you closed your eyes as tightly as you waited for her to strike. You couldn't fight back, you didn't want to hurt her. If it even was Samantha anymore. You opened one eye a crack and was surprised to find Samantha gone. But so was Mark. "Mark!" You screamed to the empty landscape around you. "(Y/N), what's wrong?" Caleb darted outside. "Samantha-at least I think it was her-took Mark." You explained, feeling tears well up in your eyes. You were terrified, praying that wherever Mark was he would be safe. I slumped down to the dusty red ground in defeat and pounded the rocky terrain with my fists in anger. "Why Mark? Why wasn't it me?" You sobbed in despair. "Hey, we'll find him." Caleb sat down by me and put a gentle hand on your shoulder. You shrank away, your thoughts whirling wildly in your head like a tornado. "That wasn't Samantha that took him. I know it." You mumbled to yourself. "She wasn't wearing a suit and her eyes were blood red." You told Caleb. "Look, let's go inside and I want you to tell me what happened. Okay?" Caleb suggested. I sighed in resignation, then agreed and followed him inside. Once inside, you sat down in your chair and told Caleb about your encounter you and Mark had with Samantha. "That thing that attacked you guys definitely wasn't Samantha, so we need to call it something else." Caleb stated with a frown. "The alien?" You shrugged. "That'll work for now I guess." Caleb agreed grudgingly. "Now what, we just sit around and wait for the alien to come get us too?!?" You snapped impatiently, feeling useless and worried about Mark. "That would make my job so much easier." Samantha-or whatever it was-hissed and grabbed onto your shoulders. The world instantly went dark and you felt like you were spinning out of control. You opened your mouth to scream, but no sound came out. After what felt like an eternity, you fell onto a cold metal floor face first. The last thing you saw before you lost consciousness was Mark holding your head in his lap and him telling you that everything would be okay.
