"(Y/N)!" Mark whispered sharply in your ear, lightly grasping your shoulders with his warm but firm hands and shaking them. You groggily waved Mark away like he was a pesky fly with a hand. "Five more minutes." You insisted as you curled yourself into a tighter ball. You then remembered where you were. Alerted, you scrambled off of Mark and observed your surroundings. There wasn't much to see, except for the walls and floor. You did realize that instead of your clunky space suit, you were dressed in a white jumpsuit and no shoes, as well as Mark, and Mark's glasses were missing. Your attention then snapped back to Mark, who was watching you carefully. "Are you alright?" He finally asked gently. "No, my friend is for some reason a freaking alien, and I'm trapped in a room alone with you with no way out, and even if I did escape, I'm on Mars and the rocket is totaled!" You huffed angrily, slightly relieved to get your concerns off of your chest. "What happened to you?" You asked after a brief moment of silence. "I don't remember." Mark sighed in frustration. "Got in the ship and took me here somehow." You commented off handedly. "Hope Caleb's alright." You added with a hint of worry in your voice. "Since we have nothing else better to do, tell me about yourself." Mark abruptly changed the subject as you sat down by him on the floor cross legged. "Well, there's not really anything interesting about me to tell." You shrugged. "C'mon!" Mark prompted eagerly, giving you his best puppy dog eyes. You finally conceded with an eye roll and told him about your family, what made you decide to become an astronaut and even a little about your childhood. He sat quietly as you talked to him, listening patiently and not interrupting once. When you were done, he remained silent for a moment. "Are you going to talk?" I asked. Instead of talking, he began singing a familiar song you knew by heart.

"Ground control to Major Tom,
Ground control to Major Tom,
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on,
Ground control to Major Tom,
Commencing countdown, engines on,
Check ignition and may God's love be with you,"

You joined his deep lyrical voice with your own lighter pitched voice on the chorus, creating a beautiful harmony that you wanted to last forever. The two of you were interrupted by Sama-the alien, suddenly appearing in the room, startling you from the perfect moment. "Come with me." It hissed in a voice darker than Samantha's as it extended it's hand towards you. You looked back at Mark, who motioned you on encouragingly, which only made you more nervous. "I love you." He whispered as the alien grabbed your hand and took you to who knows where. You wanted to call back, but by the time you opened your mouth, you were in a huge area that almost resembled the launch pad where your rocket took off, except that it was much bigger and almost everything glowed. Sitting in the center was what you assumed was a massive ship with a holographic cockpit, diamond shaped wings, and a rectangular frame that looked like it could hold thousands of people. "You like it? We used part of your crashed ship." The alien informed you, then dragged you further away from it as if you were going to steal it.  "We can't have you telling anyone about us-" "-us?!?" I interrupted in bewilderment. "Of course. I forgot that you didn't meet Tenebris properly." She clapped her hands and Mark appeared in the room-at least you thought it was him. He turned to face you, and his eyes turned pitch black, smiling wide to reveal four rows of sharp fangs. "What-" You stammered in confusion, trying to process what was going on. "My name is Malum, and we are the Araime!" She roared proudly. Human like aliens began showing up out of nowhere, their snake like tongues snaking out of their mouthes as they cheered along with Malum. "Where's Mark?" You cried as you backed away room the giant horde of aliens rapidly approaching you. "He's dead, along with your friend." She cackled gleefully. Unable to understand what was going on, you ran. You ran as fast as your legs would carry you, tears streaming down your face and blurring your vision. You wiped them away with the back of your hand and prayed that Malum was lying. You didn't get very far. Malum and Tenebris blocked your path, forked tongues flickering in and out of their mouthes, licking their fangs. You tried to make a sharp turn, but instead ended up twisting your ankle in a painful position and colliding into them. You closed your eyes tightly, expecting to be killed or worse. Instead when you cracked your eyes open, you found yourself in a medical room, strapped to a hospital like bed that looked like it came from Star Trek. You struggled to escape, but had no success. You flopped back down, glad that at least you weren't dead yet. "Comfortable?" Tenebris asked in Mark's voice, his eyes back to their normal color. You shivered and refused to answer. "Why didn't you kill me?" You asked instead. "We wouldn't want to waste such a perfect disguise now would we? Although, you do need time to heal." He traced his finger down your leg and onto your ankle that was bound in a metal cast that was already beginning to heal you somehow. You flinched at his touch and spat in his face. Disgusted, he wiped away the spit and slapped you across the cheek, leaving a burning red mark shaped like a hand. "I will kill you if you cause too many problems however." He threatened, quickly lashing out with his hand and grabbing your chin so you were forced to look at him, his nails digging sharply into your skin. "Understand?" You gave a small nod, slightly regretting your decision. Satisfied, he released his hold and left the room, leaving you wondering what to do now. You tried to focus on escaping, but your mind kept wandering to Mark, wishing that the time in the cell you spent with Tenebris was instead spent with Mark and wondering why Tenebris said he loved you. Probably just another trick, you thought bitterly. Yet for some reason you didn't think that was the case.
