(the next day)
"Hey, Mr. Milan, I'm going to be a little late to work today." You told your boss on the phone. You wanted to visit Mark again before work. "I understand. It's a shame about what happened to Mark last night, he's a good guy. Anyway, I'll see you when I see you." With that, he ended the call with a beep. You were leaning against the white wall in the reception room, waiting for the receptionist to come back from break. "Hey, how can I help you?" A woman around her earlier thirties sat down in the black office chair behind the laptop and began tying away. "Uh, where is Markip-I mean Mark Fischbach's room?" You refrained from calling Mark by his YouTube name. "Room 23, to your right down that hallway." She pointed over towards two white double doors. I nodded in appreciation and followed the receptionist's instructions. I hesitated outside of the door, then I took a deep breath before entering. Mark's mom, Bob, Wade, and Jack were gathered by Mark's bed. Their gazes snapped from Mark and stared at me with confusion. You barely held in a squeal of joy as you awkwardly waved hello to the group. "Um, not to be rude, but who are you?" Bob inquired politely. "I-I work with him." You stuttered. "The engineer in space job?" Wade asked. You nodded as you shut the door behind you. "Well, any friend of Mark is a friend of mine. What's your name?" Mrs. Fischbach smiled warmly as she shook my hand. "(Y/N)," You answered nervously. You heard a soft groan emanate from Mark as his eyes cracked open a little. "(Y/N)?" He croaked. You beamed and knelt over by his bed. "Hey, I'm right here." You assured him. "Hey Mark!" Jack grinned. "Jack? Why are you here? I'm fine." Mark protested as his voice cracked. "Here." Mrs. Fischback handed Mark a plastic cup of water. He greedily grabbed it and he drained the entire cup in a few swallows. "(Y/N), thank you." He gave a small grunt as he shifted to a sitting position. "For what?" I frowned in confusion. Everybody's eyes darted towards me. "You saved my life. You're the one who brought me here and stayed by my side, almost the entire night. I heard all of the things you said last night, and they were so kind..." He trailed off. "You weren't lying when you said all of those things, right?" He questioned. "Y-Yes, well, I mean, I-I guess," You stammered as you began to feel the weight of everyone's stares on the back of your head. "Wanna be in a video?" He reached over to the bedside table, put on his glasses, then grabbed a video camera. "Really?" You gasp excitedly. "It saw the least I could do. Especially after all you've done for me." He smirked when he grabbed the blue rose I left him from the table. Jack, Bob, Wade, Mrs. Fischbach and I gathered around the top of Mark's bed. Jack held the camera, then counted down to three before he hit the record button. "Hello everybody, my name is Markiplier and yes, I'm back at the hospital, but don't worry, I'm okay, I promise. Some guy slipped some alcohol in some punch I was drinking at a party, but everything's okay, so comments, stop freaking out, I can tell you are." He paused to take a breath. "I just wanted to say thank you to all of my friends and my mom for coming," the group around me waved at the camera. "And also I wanted to say a huge thank you to my new friend and colleague (Y/N). She has been so kind to me even though I just met her and she literally saved my life. So, as a thank you, I want to ask you," he shifted in his bed so that he was facing you. "Do you...do you wanna....you know," he struggled to find the right words for whatever he wanted to ask. His face had blushed a deep scarlet as he lightly touched the petals on the blue rose that I gave him. "Are you asking me on a date?" You nearly shouted in surprise. "Uh-um-yeah, I mean-" he looked over at Jack, who gave him a thumbs up in response. I cut him off with a quick kiss on his cheek. "Of course." You say, then you switched off the camera. "When and where do you wanna go?" Mark anxiously ran a hand through his hair. "Anywhere you want to go is fine with me and I'm free tomorrow after work." You replied. "That is, if you're out of the hospital tomorrow." You added. "So on Thursday around six, I'll-" Mark started to speak. "Wow, that would mean that now all of us would have a girlfriend, except Bob since he's married." Wade mused incredulously, interrupting Mark. "Man that was kinda unexpected. Congrats on the date though!" Jack congratulated Mark with a pat on the shoulder. "Hope I'm not interrupting anything, but I need to check on the patient and see if he's clear to leave." The doctor swung the door open wide. "By the way, these came for you." Nurses carried in arm loads of flowers, cards, and stuffed animals and were dumping them against the wall that faced Mark. "I guess your fans heard before you put out the video." You suppressed a giggle as Mark just watched in amazement as nurses kept carrying things in until the wall that faced Mark was no longer visible. "So...want an early date present?" He teased as he gestured at the giant pile of gifts. "Mark Fischbach, I signed my part on the paperwork so you can go, so I need you to sign here, here, initials here, and here." The doctor handed Mark a clipboard with three papers attached to it. "I should probably get going, I still have work. See you later!" You wave goodbye to Mark as you exit the room. Shortly after, Jack, Bob, and Wade left too and followed behind me. "See ye later (Y/N)!" Jack shouted beside you. You were used to watching Jack's loud videos, so you didn't cover your ears. "We're all staying at.......room 38 if you wanna visit us." Bob added as he went to his vehicle with Jack and Wade. "I'll do that!" You said as you got into your jeep and drove to work.
