"What the-how did-where did-" You sputtered in confusion as you rushed to Mark's side, a million questions racing through your head. He seemed okay, just unconscious for the time being. The others seemed just as lost as you. "But I thought-I thought he-" Ken shrugged widely, flustered. No one seemed to be able to complete a single thought as you carefully lifted him up bridal style, the water soaking through your clothes as you laid him down on the couch while Felix went to fetch him warm clothes. Ken was pacing behind the couch while Jack only stared in shock at Mark, unable to believe he was there. You couldn't believe it either, yet there he was. "He needs to get in dry clothes, otherwise he's gonna get sick." Felix dumped a pile of clothes in your hands. You felt yourself blush, realizing that you were going to be the one that would have to help him. Once again you picked Mark up and laid him on your bed. You were removing his shirt when he suddenly gained consciousness, his eyes fluttering open. "(Y/N), what are you doing?" Mark asked with a weak smirk as you held his still dripping wet shirt in your hands. "U-um..." You stammered, at a loss for words. "Thank you." Mark nodded in appreciation, saving you from further embarrassment as he took the clothes from your hands. You politely exited the room and told the others that he was awake. "Did he say how he survived?" Ken blurted excitedly, curiosity burning in his eyes. You shook your head no. "He only just woke up." You explained. A couple moments later Mark stepped out wearing a blank black t-shirt, infamous lucky flannel and a pair of black sweatpants. As soon as he sat down on the couch, Jack, Felix and Ken began bombarding him with questions. "How did you survive?" "What happened to the other crew members?" "How did you get here?" Mark wearily held up a hand to silence them. "I don't remember what happened, and as far as the other crew members..." He paused for a moment. You could tell he was trying to decide if he should tell them or not. "I'm afraid I can't say yet." He spoke slowly. "Why are you still wet then?" Jack asked. Mark looked at you pleadingly, searching for an escape from the question. Your eyes widened as the realization hit you. Tenebris. "Look, I think he's still pretty tired, so we should let him rest." You quickly made up an excuse. Mark seemed to visibly relax slightly. "Yeah you're right." Felix agreed reluctantly. "We'll go back to the hotel. Call us if you need anything." And with that, Ken, Felix and Jack left, leaving the two of you alone. "So, what happened?" You sat down on the couch by Mark once you heard their car drive away. "Well to be honest, I thought I was dead. When the tidal wave hit, I was unconscious. Tenebris teleported to the first place I thought of. Home. Thankfully no one was there at the time besides the dogs. When I woke up, I went back to the ocean and kept searching for you. I thought you had drowned." Mark's eyes watered slightly, but no tears fell as he took a shaky deep breath and force himself to continue. "I don't know how long I was out there. I kept looking until I was past exhaustion. Then, Tenebris took me here." He finished, gesturing around him. "I'm just glad you're okay." You snuggled into his chest with a content sigh. "Me too. But I can't take over this world by myself." Mark's eyes shifted to black. The same voice you had heard before you had passed out on the helicopter spoke again. "I shall join you brother. Together we will make this our new home." You quickly stood up and backed away from Tenebris, one hand clutching your head. "Who are you?" You asked aloud. "Why don't you remember? It's me, Umbra."
