Kara

It was supposed to be their 3rd Year Wedding Anniversary today. She looked at the clock on the wall and saw that it's quarter to midnight and yet Jake's still not home.

'Home' Kara thought

'How strange to think of this house as her own' she mentally note

**********************************************

She had tried calling him for the fiftieth time but it all went through to his voicemail so she didn't bother leaving him any messages anymore as he was obviously ignoring her existence, yet again

She had opted  however to sending him a text message and asked him to come home early after work since she'll be preparing a dinner for the two of them to celebrate their third year together.

She put my phone down and proceeded to set the things she had planned to do today.

She eagerly went out early to shop for ingredients since she had planned in cooking him his favorite dish which was paella. 2 hours after, she had she'd gone home and set out to preparing and cooking all throughout the morning, humming and dancing to Fifth Harmony's Worth It record with a smile to her face.

Over the years that they had been married, Kara had been used to him by now. She had learned that when it came to Jake, nothing was ever predictable. One day he'd be civil and nice then out of the blue, the devil makes his appearance, unfeeling and cruel as people describe him.

Flashback

After their wedding, he had brought her back to his house.

It wasn't news to her that the house was picturesque and had the most gorgeous view she could ever imagine. She had loved how it was by the beach and how she thought she could watch the sunset over the sea from now on. It was a mediterranean house with a huge windows, outside covered porch with a pathway leading to the infinity pool.

The house was huge and located on a secluded and very private gated community that only wealthy people could afford. She had noticed that 2 very built and tall men came out from the house and marched to their car as soon as she and Jake entered the steel gate.

It was later on that she knew that these were Jake's security detail and that one of them had been assigned to watch over her and be her bodyguard. She had protested at first but he cut her off by saying she needed to stop acting like a child and follow his orders.

'Stop making everything so difficult' Jake whisper yelled that only she could hear

'I don't need a baby sitter Jake! I can take care of myself' Kara protested

'I don't give a damn what you can and can't do. You now carry my name and although this marriage was never what I wanted, I will make sure that you are safe and well taken care of. I will not let you squander around town alone and vulnerable. I'm a very wealthy and powerful man, Kara. I didn't get where I am today without making enemies.' He added

She was about to make another point when he cut her off yet again and said

'Do as I say' and then proceeded to walk off and turn his back retreating behind a door which she assumed must be his office.

So here she was, in her freaking wedding dress, glued in the spot where she stood and had no clue what to do. Jake's house was unfamiliar to her and she didn't really want snooping around and checking out each room. She had been contemplating on what to do when someone cleared his throat behind her.
