"Sex and white lies, handcuffs and alibis, she lays her halo on her pillow where she sleeps."
Colby had gotten off the stage long ago. Pierce the Veil, along with the rest of A Day to Remember, had finally returned from Disney World.
He was watching Pierce the Veil do their sound check when his phone rang, and seeing that it was Saraya, he went outside and answered it.
"Hey."
"Hey, Colbs."
"Colbs?"
"What?" She asked, most likely smirking. "I could call you Colby Jack."
He rolled his eyes. "Colbs is fine, I guess."
"I meant to call you earlier, but I ended up getting booked for a bunch of shows," She told him. "So, how is everything with the knee? You're in Orlando, right?"
"I was," He replied. "I was at the Performance Center for a little while, doing my physical therapy there."
"Where are you now?" She was confused.
"Tampa."
"Oh." She paused. "So, did you talk to Carrie? Is that why you're there? Because Kevin told me they were playing in Tampa tonight, and there's nothing to do there, so you've got to be talking to Carrie."
"I talked to Carrie," He said. "Everything's fine. Well... We're fine. She just broke up with her boyfriend."
"That sucks," Saraya said.
"Yeah," He agreed. "She called me, saying she needed someone to talk to, so I came here from Orlando."
"Colby..."
"What?"
"Did her boyfriend break up with her because of you?" She asked, suspiciously.
"No!" He replied, a little too loudly. He spoke softer this time. "No. She said she never got a chance to tell him. Why would she call me if it was my fault?"

"Why did I call him?"
Savannah looked up from tuning her bass. She and Carrie were the only ones in the room; Violet was setting up her drums, while she wasn't really sure what Jessica and Lindsay were doing.
"I don't know," Savannah replied, setting her bass down to focus on Carrie. "Why did you call him?"
"I'm not sure," Carrie admitted. "But... Why did I lie to him?"
Savannah frowned. "What did you lie about?"
Carrie sighed. "I told him that he wasn't the reason that Sam and I broke up."
"Sam broke up with you because of Colby?" She asked, widening her eyes.
"Yes, but don't say it so loudly!" Carrie snapped. She sighed again. "I just... I missed him, you know? And if I told him that I didn't have a boyfriend anymore because of him, he wouldn't have stayed. I want to see him every day."
"Because you like him." Savannah smirked.
"No..." Carrie protested, but not very convincingly. She frowned and crossed her arms. "He's just been on tour with us for so long, that it felt weird not having him around. He needs to be here so everything feels normal again."
"Sure," Savannah said, nodding. She picked up her bass again as Carrie stood up.
She started to leave the room, but stopped, turning to look at Savannah again. "This doesn't feel right."
"What?"
"I feel like I should be more upset that Sam broke up with me," Carrie said. "I mean, I was crying earlier, but now..." She paused. "Why am I so okay about it?"
Savannah knew why, but she knew Carrie would refuse to acknowledge it and argue about it, so she just said, "I don't know. Maybe it hasn't fully sunk in yet."
"Yeah." Carrie slowly nodded. "You're probably right."
Savannah looked back down at her bass, and Carrie turned around and left.

Colby hung up the phone, and a few seconds later, he heard the door behind him open. He turned around and saw Carrie had walked outside.
"Hey," She greeted. "What are you doing out here?"
"Saraya called," He replied. "I came out here to answer; I couldn't hear with everything going on in there."
"Oh."
"We haven't talked in a while," He told her. "She's been busy."
She nodded. "Okay." She motioned toward the door. "Why don't you come back inside? I have to be on stage in a few minutes, anyway, and it's cold out here." She crossed her arms.
Colby chuckled. "You think this is cold?"
"Yes!" Carrie nodded, quickly. "Now come inside."
"Okay, fine," He followed her inside. "You wouldn't last a day in Iowa."
"I just wouldn't go outside," She reasoned. "Stay inside all day, where there's heat."
Colby just laughed and rolled his eyes.

This chapter is pretty short, but the next one will be longer, I promise!
But Colby is the reason Carrie and Sam broke up?? Whoa!! (lol I'm trying to hype you guys up, is it working?) (also WE DON'T GET HYPED, WE STAY HYPED) (that was needed)
Technically, the next lyric of Toxic Valentine is just a bunch of "ohs" and that didn't seem like it would make any sense to type that out, so I didn't. :P
Anyway, let me know what you thought! :)
