Max's pov
"Ok Ross were here" I tell him as we pull into the dentist. Shelby came along. It was a 30 minute drive so we played some road games. We had alot of fun just talking. Shelby and I take Ross into the dentist's office. If was a good 10 minutes until the nurse came out. "Ross?" She asks "He's right here" I answer "Alrighty right this way Dr. Emily will be doing your operation it'll take a predicted 25 minutes and if you two would like to wait in the smaller waiting room for Ross that'll be just fine" the nurse smiled. "Thank you" Shelby replies. "Ok Ross right this way" the nurse gestured him to a small room with a chair, a curtain and lots of utensils.
Ross's pov
I walk into the operation room. My stomach turns Ross no don't fake yourself out everything will be ok everything will be ok. It'll be over soon "Ok Ross Dr. Emily will be in soon for your operation" I nod with fear "Don't worry Ross, it's a simple operation and Dr. Emily is really nice" the nurse squeaked. Soon a girl with dirty blond curly hair in red scrubs. She looks familiar. "Em?" I ask she tilts her head at me "Ross?" She asks "What are you doing here?" I ask her "So... I work weekends at dentist what's it to you?" She asks. "Oh you two know each other?" The nurse asked "yeah I used to work with this looser" Em rolled her eyes jokingly. "Yeah I left because of her" I kid. "Whatever Ross" Em laughs. "Let's get this over with" Em says "Joy will you please equip Ross with the anesthetic mask" Em asks. "Of course now Ross I'll count to ten and you'll be asleep alright?" Nurse Joy smiled "Ok as long as Em doesn't pull any funny business" I joke Em is making me feel a little less nervous. They put the oxygen mask on "10....9....8...7...6...." and everything goes dark.
Shelbys pov
Ross has been in the operation room for 20 minutes now. I've been bored out of my mind everyone looks so serious and boring. Max keeps cracking jokes "Who's the most famous skeleton detective?" Max asks with a quirky smile "Who's the most famous skeleton detective Max?" I sigh "Sherlock Bones" he laughs "My god" I roll my eyes. "Shelby, Max right this way" the nurse gestured a room with Ross in it "H-hey I know them" Ross pointed at us "yes Ross, you know us" I tell him "heeeheee" he laughs. Then he started to play with my hair. "Where's the dentist?" Max asks "Oh she had to go to her other job" nurse Joy laughed. "Why'd she go?" Ross tilted his head not making clear words with the wraps in his mouth. "Oh honey she had to leave" nurse Joy answered "I'm not bee throw up!" Ross literally cried. "Its just an expression baby" nurse Joy again tried calling him "IM NOT AN INFANT" Ross was having a full blown tantrum "It's ok Ross, it's just a saying" I say "heeeheee" Ross laughed. "Okay Ross time to go to the car" Joy walked him out to the car and buckled him into the backseat and I scooted next to him "You're pretty" Ross pointed at Joy "Thank you darling" Joy laughed. "Hes already to go" Joy told me "Now, since his mouth might be sore, I say get him some frozen yogurt or ice cream and milk with no straw" Joy informs us. "Now you all have a good trip" Joy smiled. "Bai pretty little fishy" Ross waved to her. And Max pulls out of the parking lot.
Max's pov
We get out of the parking lot and Ross is completely out of it. "Max, Max, Max, his name is Max." Ross starts singing. Then his expression turns to a quivering chin. "My lip is gone" Ross whaled and tears flooded his cheeks "Your lip isn't gone it's just numb" I reassure him. "They took away my lip" Ross complained. "Shelby" Ross asked "yes Ross" Shelby answered "How did I get into the car?" He asked. "Don't you remember nurse Joy taking you to the car?" Shelby asked. "I wanna watch cartoons" Ross said. "Okay bud which cartoon do you want to watch?" I asked him "The one that goes 'LEDAL LEDAL LEDAL'" Ross screamed at the top of his lungs. I can put on any cartoon really. He won't know the difference. "Maxy" Ross asked. I decide not to ask him not to call me that. "Ross" I say "I'm hungry" He informs me. "We're going to stop for ice cream on the way home" Shelby smiles. "I DID NOT ASK YOU" he pointed at Shelby "I ASKED MAX" he pointed at me. Ross proceeded to shuffle across the street restrained by his seat belt "IM STUCK" he screamed. "Ross calm down" I said. "YOU CALM DOWN" he pointed at me. "I'm tired" he said yawning and fell onto Shelby's shoulder. We where getting close to home and Shelby and I decided to get him ice cream later. We pull into the apartments and Shelby and I walk in "How are we getting Ross into the house?" I ask "I got him" Shelby laughed. There's no way she can get him. I cross my arms and look towards the car. And I see Shelby carrying Ross bridal style. "What? This isn't the first time he passed out" she laughed my mouth is dangling open. She takes Ross in and lays him on the couch. I realize I'm still outside...
