15. The Bermuda Love Triangle
Dedicated to that awesome person at the top right corner for giving me the idea. Check her story out!
Love triangle. Yeah. Very original. I also have this one in my story. :)
Love triangle is SO overused.
We have that in Twilight Saga (Edward, Bella and Jacob;), The Hunger Games (Katniss, Peeta and Gale), The Heroes of Olympus (Jason, Reyna and Piper; Percy, Reyna and Annabeth; Percy, Annabeth and Nico xD), The Mortal Instruments (Jace, Clary and Simon; Clary, Simon and Isabelle; Clary, Jace and Sebastian; Clary, Jace and Alec) and so on . . .
See? So cliché? Even novels have them!
Now, what's wrong with JTK love triangles?
Oh, let me correct myself. What are the similarities between JTK love triangles?
a. Girl has an ex-boyfriend that bugs her;
b. Girl cheats with another pasta monster;
c. Girl always ends up with Jeff; (Of course.)
d. Jeff always kills that other guy; or
e. Jeff rapes that cheater of a girl!
RIGHT?
I'm right. Don't question my logic! xD
Again, I'm just going to clarify. There's nothing wrong with cliché elements. Just make it more interesting by adding twists.
LET'S GET CREATIVE! [What reference is that?]
Question: Do you have a love triangle in your story? How do you improve the plot using it?
That's all. :)
P. S. The best love triangle that I've read in a story was from Sweep Series by Cate Tiernan. It's not a popular series; but for me, it's the best! It has 15 installments before. Now, they are crammed into five volumes. Read them now! You won't regret it. It's actually the first series that I've finished. [Advertisement :P]
