Skylar POV

The day at school seemed perfectly normal, classes being just as annoying as they were before. But there was something, different. I hadn't seen Zane all day, and I felt like I was being watched by something, or someone. Worst thing was that my wolf didn't know weather or not to be on allert just in case it was a threat, and I was distracted about the Halloween party Zane was having on friday night. Yeah, a day late but his parents don't leave his house till that morning. I jumped slightly when the bell for lunch rang, I was so engrossed in my thoughts I didn't realize someone was talking to me.

"You're Skylar, right?" A boy with blonde hair asked me.

I nodded, picking up my books and bag slinging it over my shoulders. "Why?"

He smiled kindly at me, as if I had said something stupid. "I'm Kyle, do you mind showing me around?"

"O-oh, sure. Well it's lunch now so I guess just follow me .." I began to walk out of the classroom when a familier scent hit my nose, it was Zane. He had been here, but with someone else. I wonder who that could be.. I was pulled from my train of thought as Eve pushed into me as she went by, causing me to fall backwards into Kyle. Thankfully he caught me. I picked myself up from him and turned to Eve who now was stood infront of us.

"Who's your .. friend?" She asked, looking him up and down.

"U-uh, he's new and asked me to show him around.."

She nodded her head as she looked back at me then to him. She took a few steps forwards so she was standing close to him.

"Why don't you ditch the walking embarrassment and hang out with us? I mean, look at her, she's not really someone you would hang out with." She pointed to me,  ruining trying to be discreet.

It made me stop for a moment, looking down at my clothes. Okay, so I could have chosen a better outfit but I was tired and late. I was wearing a pair of black skinnys with a plain blue t-shirt and a black hoodie, I also couldn't find where I had thrown my converse to last night so I had black flats on. I then looked at Kyle who was wearing black skinnys too, but he had a checked top over a plain white tee. Simple but a cute look none the less. I suppose we didn't really mach.

"No thankyou, Skylar is more than able to show me around. But thankyou for the offer." He smiled as stepped to the side, avoiding her face and glare in our direction before she stalked off in her preppy cheer leading outfit with her group of girls.

"You do realize what you've done, right?" I asked as he turned to look at me with a grin. I looked confusedly at him, he seemed to be taking this all far to easily for his first day.. Sure, you get used to Eve and her random outbursts, but not straight away. I turned around motioning to him to follow me as I walked to the canteen. "You can by your lunch here ..? Do you already have food or do you need to buy stuff?"

"Nah, I'm good. Where do you usually sit?" He asked, looking at all the tables then back to me.

"Well.. usually outside but it's raining at the minute.. how about in the corner over there?" I pointed to the table and he nodded, leading the way. I sat in the corner up against the wall, watching the whole cafeteria do it's thing while he sat opposite.

"You seem, distracted."

I looked at him sharply."N-no, I just- I was just thinking about something someone told me, I suppose it must be something important for me to be loosing my mind over it." I lied, not really wanting to saddle the nice guy with any of my silly girl problems. Mind you, they weren't really silly,or girl problems. Huh.
