~chp 16: broken hearts~

Yuris pov*

I walked blindly through the halls, lost in my thoughts. The scene tonight replayed in my head. Had he really heard everything about my past? My sad wretched past. Slow tears ran down my face as i remembered my dads last look at me before falling to dust.

I continued walking in through the building, my tears making everything blurry.

I returned to my room and sat on my bed. I sighed unable to sleep, when something caught my eye out the window. I walked towards it and saw kaname and zero talking. This was surprising. I stared intensley at them until i started to hear their conversation in my head.

Kaname: "you know i never told you why i tolerate your existense." He turned to look at zero. "Truth is i wouldnt hesitate in killing you. But its for yuki. I know you would never betray her, you owe her that much"

Zero narrowed his eyes at him.

Kaname turned again, walking away, "that is why you are allowed to live....by me but just barely"

I stopped eavesdropping and walked back to my bed, slumping on it and bringing my knees up to my chest. Kaname still only cared for her. That wasn't a surprise. I sighed and looked at the ceiling, questioning.

*later that day*

After kanames talk with zero he locked himself up in his room, refusing to come out and attend class. We all left him and proceeded to class.

"What do you think is up with lord Kaname?" Aidou asked me.

"I don't know" i simply shrugged and continued walking to the classroom. The moon was full and bright. It seemed to haunt over us following us and for some reason i felt something strange in the air. It made the hairs on the back of me neck stand. I just didn't know what?

We proceeded into the class and everyone scattered into the place they usually went to to wait for the instructor. I stood with Aidou, leaning against a wall.

"You seem really out of it, are you okay" he asked me

"Yeah I'm fine, just a little tired, the sun was brutal today and I couldn't get much sleep" i explained to him. Someone suddenly giggled from across the room and everyone turned towards the noise. A girl with lavender hair and eyes stood in the front of the class.

"This class seems fun" she giggled

"Who the hell?" Aidou began but was cut short when she jumped from desk to desk till she stood infront of Aidou.

"Thats not very nice" she held onto his face as if paralyzing him. He stood wide eyed unable to move.
I stood from the wall and yanked him out of her reach, behind.

"you must be a new student" i stood in front of her.
She crouched to my height.

"A pureblood I'm so happy!, please excuse me im Maria Kurenai" she held my hand in hers and looked across the room, " it seems everyone hates me now i guess i should go." She jumped from the desk to the door and left. Aidou still stood behind me paralyzed and everyone at once began murmuring.

The instructor, Toga yagari soon walked in and the class begun. I was unable to concentrate throughout the lesson. I still had goosebumps and the hairs on my neck still stood. I don't know why I had the strangest feeling I had met her before. But where?

"Class dismissed" everyone started shuffling out the door but i remained where i was.

"The class has left did you fall asleep during my lesson?" Yagari asked while picking some papers.

"Somewhat" i answered, " hey has anything been on?" Yagari stopped and looked at me, "with the hunters association".

"Why do you ask?"

"I have this feeling but I don't know what?" Yagari just stared at me then looked away.

"Well, there have been some sightings of a pureblood who we thought was long gone but seems she wasn't" i simply stared into space analyzing what he said. I finally stood from my seat and walked out.

Everyone was long gone into there dorms and i walked alone. The wind blew my hair out of my face and caressed my face. I could feel someone behind.

"Stop following me" i simply said.

"You should be in your dorm" zero said and I stopped walking.

"If I'm a monster why do you keep following me " i knew exactly why and I'm sure he did too.  He walked closer to me till he was just a few inches away.

"Im sorry," my eyes widened at this. "For what happened earlier. I didn't mean for it to happen"

I simply stood shocked at what he said. But i turned and walked away from him. He didn't follow me instead i swear I saw a small smirk on his face. But I disregarded it and continued to my dorm. A leaf crunched and as i turned to see Maria stood centimeters from my face. I stumbled back.

"Sorry I didn't mean to scare you" the voice was no longer Marias, the voice was the same as the lady with the white hair from the woods. I stood there shocked.

"Hello yuri"

"What?" I couldn't understand what was happening. Then i remembered what she had told me. She would search for me but not in her body.
"Why are you here?" I asked

"I still haven't received what i asked"

"I can't retrieve what you want " I stood firm.

"Well your much more serious now, why the sudden change" she came closer to me. " if you cant get me kurans blood offer me yours."

"What?"

"Im growing impatient" she groaned angrily

"Who are you?" I finally asked

"My name is shizuka hio" she whispered. I knew that name.

"You- you killed zeros family and..."

"Yes i did"

"You made him what he is now"

"Yes that means zero and i have a bond he'll be mine soon enough"

"No" I instantly said

"Oh has he won you with his charm," she looked into my eyes " we'll make a deal give me your blood and I'll consider leaving zero"

"Your lying"

"You know you smell so nice, even more than kaname kuran, its irresistible"

I stood still looking straight at her then lifted my chin to expose my neck. I didn't know what I was doing it's as if my body's given up.

"I cant take your blood just yet not in this body at least"

"There is a ball coming up meet me during the ball ill call to you" her voiced turned back to Maria's and she giggled, "I'm excited! See you then."

She ran off so quickly I could swear she disappeared in midair. What was i doing? Or thinking? I continued to my dorm still shacken from the events that had happened.
