Chapter 7. And then there was you.

Kendall's POV:

That same night.

Logan had Jessie and to me defense before I say anything else is that I could see right they her not in a bad way, I could just feel her sadness even though she had Logan she was still not the person she really was. I was sitting on a bench thinking, maybe she was hiding something to me she was wearing a mask so no one would see the real her, I wanted to talk to her and try to find out more about her.

I know it might sound like I'm falling for her but it's not that she needs a friend that will listen and someone that she can come to if she needs to. My phone suddenly rang

"hallo?"

"Hey Kendall, it's Carlos, what you doing?" I looked at the time it was 12:30 am

"Nothing just siting in the park on a bench thinking" I said

"Oh okay, do you need a please to crash for the night?" he asked

"Yeah that would be nice, Logan has Jessie over and I can't go back there yet" I said and took a deep breath okay, maybe I feel something towards her.

"Okay, come over the door is open" he said

"Okay see ya in 5" I said and hung up the phone and out it back in my pocket.

As I walked towards Carlos and James dorm room I was still thinking about the whole Jessie thing, how could I make her see that I just wanted to be her friend and that she could trust me, I needed to get her alone.

When I arrived at their dorm room they had put a mattress on the floor and some covers and a pillow, I crawled under the covers and found sleep pretty fast.

Saturday morning!

I woke up and looked up at the sealing, my thoughts fast dwelled back on Jessie, I out my ear buds in and found Blake Shelton "sure be cool if you did" I like country music and this song could clear my head or maybe not, as I was laying there a smile found my lips, all I could see was me and her dancing slowly to this song. I shook my head what was I doing? fantasying about my best friend and room mats girl, how could I do that? Yes Jessie has deep blue eyes and brown hair that curls at the end and she has this cute laughter, how do I know all this you may ask? well that night at the party she was laughing and her blue eyes was shining, she was in her element.

She didn't have to pretend she could just let lose, I don't know her personally or anything I am just good at reading people. "hey Kendall!" I hear someone say, I pulled out one ear bud "yeah, what's up?" I asked and looked in the direction that the voice came from and found James standing in his boxers and a tank too "are you alright?" he asked, I shrugged my shoulders "I don't know, maybe" I answered "either you are or your not that kinda how it goes" James said, "I'm gonna be" was all I could manage to say at the moment.

My phone vibrated incoming text

Text from Logan.

Hey you can come back to the room now if you want to!

👍 Logan.

I read it and texted back.

Text to Logan.

Hey man thanks I'll be back soon, is Jessie still there?

See yah Kendall 👍

I pushed send, I just needed to know if she was still there, short after he texted me back.

Text from Logan.

Yeah she's still here, but come back anyway, okay!

Logan.

Okay she was still there I got out of the covers and put in my clothes and shoes, "thanks for letting me crash last night" I told the guys "no problem, just don't make it a regular thing okay" Carlos said as a joke and I got it. I walked out the door and was hitting back to my own room it was getting colder and it was starting to rain "great, just great" I mumbled to my self I had no jacket on only my hoodie and well that could shield me from the rain for like two minutes but it was a 10 minute walk to my dorm room. as I was walking it started to rain even more and with in seconds I was soaked "shit" I mumbled as I stepped into a puddle of water and a vicar passed me splashing water all over me, "fucking great" I cursed after the car.

When I finally reached my room I was shivering and soaked dripping wet, I could barely open the door and when the door opened it was Jessie that opened the door.

"Kendall, jez what happened to you?" she asked with worry in her voice, "well it raining cats and dogs out side now" I said shivering, "okay, you need to get out if the wet clothes, come in let me help you" she said "you don't have to" I said.

She helped me out to the bathroom "here take a warm shower to get warm and then go to bed to get warmer" she demanded and closed the door. how could I not do what she had just said "Jessie?" I yelled from the bathroom "yes" she answered "where is Logan?" I asked with my head leaning on the door "oh he left for coffee and I texted him to bring you some tea" she said "oh, okay" I said.

After the warm shower a pulled on a pair of boxers, my sweat pants and a t-shirt, when I came out again Logan was still not back, Jessie looked at me and pointed towards my bed "get in bed or you'll get a could" she said with a smile. oh that smile could warm any cold heart. "I'm back baby" Logan said as he came thru the door "oh good do you have the tea for Kendall" Jessie asked Logan "yeah, what happened?" Logan asked as he handed her my tea so she could give it to me.

"well, Kenny here walked home in the rain without a jacket on and when her came here he was soaking wet, so I send him to take a warm shower and Now he needs to stay in bed for the rest of the day" she said, "okay, if you want to you can stay" I said and looked at Jessie "sure if it's okay?" She asked looking at Logan, he nodded and smiled, "oh I have to leave for a few hours or so anyway, I need to go and do some math in the study hall with a class mate, you am an stay and talk to Kendall" he said as he threw his math books in his back pack "be back later baby" he said and kissed her on the cheek and nose, and left.

At first I didn't really know what to say, Jessie turned on the TV in our room and crawled up in my bed next to me "can I borrow some if your blanket?" she asked "yeah sure" the walking dead was on so we watched it, I was getting warmer and it helped having her in the bed with me, her body heat warmed me. with in 20 minutes or maybe less we fell a sleep her head was in my chest and I had my arms around her holding her close to me. I know it could be miss understood but I knew Logan he would never see it for more then just a friendship, but secretly to me it meant more but for now I was happy just having her here in my bed keeping me warm.
