They'd been invited over to Felix's house to just hang out, apparently it was just going be Dan, Phil, Felix, and his girlfriend, Marzia? At least that's what he thought her name was, he was never good at remembering names sometimes. But was this a kind of double date thing? Or an actual hang out?
"Dan, we're here, are you going to be okay?"
Snapping back to reality he nodded on instinct and winced once he realized that, biting his bottom lip and looking down, shuffling in place. He heard a sigh leave the other and he had the idea that he was annoyed with this whole act, Dan being shy and unsure, and he was almost certain he would just go in and leave him out here. But instead he came up to Dan and took his hand. Now usually Dan would've slapped away his hand, no matter how close they'd been getting the past couple of months, touching was usually a no no with them both, but right now it was his anchor. He needed him.
"It's going to be okay, I promise. And you'll Marzia, she's very sweet. You like dogs, right? They have two little doggies, pugs. Maya and Edgar. You'll fall in love with them, and if you wanna leave, we will, okay? I'm sure they'll understand."
He felt the way he squeezed his hand and suddenly, all doubts began to vanish and he gave him an unsure smile, but a reassuring one at the same time, and it seemed good enough for the other. He let go of his hand and went to the front door, but Dan's hand shot out again and regrabbed his hand, his face stained pink. Right now he needed him to keep ahold of him, he was nervous and needed to hold him. He was something familiar, and with him things didn't seem so scary.
An understanding smile graced his lips as he intertwined their fingers and knocked on the door with the other, it opening in only a matter of seconds. He was a bit surprised, Felix was always dressed a bit flashy at the studio, but he was only dressed in jeans and a plain shirt, and it made him relax already.
"Alright! Dan and Phil are here Marzia!"
Looking behind the Swedish man, he saw a dainty woman prance up behind him, peeking out from behind him just as Dan was peeking out from Phil, going for his hand. She flashed them a grin, her eyes crinkling as her eyes landed on the, but stayed focused on Dan. He shifted in place, was she judging him? Or merely observing him?
"Phil! You said he was cute, but I never thought he'd be this cute!"
She had a high pitched voice, but it suited her. He was more interested in the words she had spoken, looking towards Phil, who seemed to refuse to look at him. Squeezing his hand in a questioning way, he was almost ready to demand an answer as to what she meant. But he didn't seem willing to say anything, so he decided not to push him for answers.
"Come in! Come in! I made snacks!"
Lurching forward as she grabbed his hand and pulled him in, he looked back towards Phil for help, but he was already busy talking to Phil, as if though he'd forgotten about him. But he knew he hadn't, he would never forget him, he was sure of it. Looking forward towards the energetic young woman he couldn't help but smile, she seemed younger and childish in a way, and it was adorable to him. She was rather petite, and shorter then any of them, and it was nice. Eventually he just let her drag him.
"Now, Daniel. You sit here, I be right back."
Her accent was quite apparent, but it didn't bug him, he only grew stiff as she wrapped her arms around his neck and pecked his cheek, but he knew it was in a friendly way, not another meaning, and it made him feel wanted and loved, something he hadn't felt for a long time. Well, not since Phil had shown up in his life, but over his dead body would he ever tell him that himself.
