Sighing, I tapped my pen against the side of the desk as I struggled to concentrate on a page of trigonometric equations, I struggled through a page of work before ripping it out. I had my catchup and now as we were heading into March revision for my SATs, which I needed if I was going to college.
Yet another thing to decide.
Moving from my desk to my futon, I tossed my paper wad in the bin, frowning as I bounced off the edge and rolled across the floor.
Sighing, I leant back against the wall, focusing my attention on the movement of the tree outside my window, its constant moving branches capturing my attention.
It seemed peculiarly windy today, and the rain hadn't held off either, as the branch whipped back and forth in the wind.
And then my phone went off on my bedside table, interrupting my misplaced focus.
Abandoning my work, I rescued my phone and held it to my ear.
"How's everything going? Do you need any help with your catch up work?" My brother questioned.
"It's fine." I dismissed "not sure what you could do anyway."
"Rude." Dom mumbled "I got some important shit to talk with you about when I get back."
"Just some stuff so be in tonight. Call me if you need anything."
"I won't." I sang before tossing my phone back onto the bed.
I don't know where he expected me to go, I didn't drive very often anymore and I was drowning in catch up work and homework.
Picking up my ball of paper, I looped it into the bin. Frowning my eyes caught sight of a screwed up bit of yellow file paper with ugly black letters on it.
It was crude but it was clear.
LEAVE. NOBODY GETS HURT.
I dropped the note back in the bin, it must be some kind of sick joke, it had only been me here, and a group of friends for a study session, even then it was just Zara, Amelia, Frankie and Lou.
There was a knock on the door. I frowned. I thought I was home alone.
"Dimples it's me." Letty called through the door "can I come in?"
"Yeah." I replied, heading back over to my desk where my Algebra II and Trig pack looked as uninteresting as before.
"How's the Great Gatsby essay going?" She asked, perching on the edge of my bed.
"Finished." I replied, thats what my study session was working on, Mrs Perkins had apparently been as vague to my classmates as she was to her email for me. "I've only got two maths packs left."
"Well done, Dimples." Letty grinned "is that all your work done?"
I nodded, I had finished my three sciences, psychology, art, English literature and history. All that were left was stupid maths. "What did you come in for."
"I came up here to wash up." I glanced over at her, hands covered with grease and god knows what else.
"This isn't the bathroom."
"I know. I took a side trip."
"Dom tell you to check up on me?"
"Nope."

Fanfiction-EDITED- "I'm sorry I think I got the wrong number." I whispered, sniffing and starring at my feet. I was too late, it was stupid, pinning my hopes on a card from three years ago. "That depends on who you're looking for." "My brother." The line we...
