"Car check." I called into my earpiece, eyeing the four cars behind me in my rear view mirror.
A chorus of yes's came through the speaker, "Mia, where are we going?" I asked, noting our turn off in half a mile.
"Take exit 172 and then a left on Winterhaven Drive." She responded, the first port of call had been contacting Hobbs, and the DSS agent had pulled some strings to track Sophia's phone and gain live feeds, it had suggested that she had been taken to Mittry Lake but we had lost visual since then.
"Dom, I'm sorry." Letty apologised, I quickly pulled over and indicated for everyone to carry on. I held her head in my hands so she looked at me.
I was worried and I was angry as fuck, but never at any time was it aimed at her.
"Let, it's not your fault, we are going to get her back," I kissed her forehead and turned back to the wheel and sped away, catching back up in a couple of minuets.
"How's your shoulder doing?" Letty questioned, "want me to drive for a bit?"
"I'm good." I lied, I could feel it start to burn under the strain, the car had no power steering so it was a constant fight to point it in the right direction. "Maybe later, do the night shift?"
"Dom, you'll need to turn onto Ross Corner. Next left." Mia instructed, she was safe at home with some of Hobbs protection, giving me directions as Ramsay worked on honing Gods Eye back on Sophia.
We were at the lake within twenty minutes, it was empty, no cars, no people, absolutely nothing.
"Shall we call the police, ask them to have a look in the lake?" Roman questioned, kicking some rocks "there's only one reason some one would bring a person here bro-"
"Thanks, Rome." Brian cut him off.
Dimples was still alive, she had to be.
"Isn't there a camp or something we drove past?" Let suggested.
We hunted through the woods near the lake without any success.
Until we spotted the phone that was sitting by the water.
Taking a deep breath, I clicked the home button and found the Home Screen was a photo of one of the barbecues.
I rung Mia and she answered immediately "have you got anything on Soph?" I questioned. "No, still working on the car. Maybe have a look around the area, I can send you through a picture of the car and number plate. If it had moved we would've spotted it."
I heard the faint clicking of laptop keys "wait, we just found in, cell phone camera indicates it's at Mittry Lake Free Camp, two minute drive up the road.
"Thanks Mia," I hung up the phone.
We rushed back to the vehicles pulling back onto the road until we reached the camp, there was a few RV's, but overall it was empty, making the old, grey Jeep Commander easy to spot.
"Need some help?" Brian questioned.
"Just make sure they don't sneak out the back." I responded, tapping on the door.
"Man, I'm just packing up-" The man paused as he realised that I was not the person he thought. "Yeah?"
"That your car?" I pointed behind me at the Jeep, he nodded slowly.
Wrapping a hand around his throat, I pushed him back into the trailer, pinning him against the wall.
"Where is my sister?" I demanded, squeezing tighter.
