By the time Sun found a way to sneak into the Pledis building after her secret meeting with her boyfriend Yixing, she tiptoed her way down the hall to her dorm, which she shared with Saris. She opened the door with her room key--it was still dark outside and they had the blinds down to block out the morning light that would come in--and she tried to quietly make her way to her bed when she was startled by a light turning on in the room.
It was a lamp on the night stand and Saris was sat on her bed with her arms crossed over her chest, awaiting an explanation. The stern look on her face said it all.
Sun brought her hands to her chest in surprise. "Geez, unnie, you scared me."
"Must be your guilty conscience." Baby Lips' leader commented. When Sun said nothing, she added the question that they both knew was coming. It was overdue from the moment the maknae walked through that door. "Where were you, Sun?"
The younger idol bit down on her lip nervously.
"I went for a walk." She told her the very same lie she had given over the phone.
Saris took one look at her and Sun knew that lie had gone out the window. "People don't go out for a walk--at three in the morning--looking like they're going to hook up with someone."
Sun gasped. "I'm hurt that you would assume that about me, unnie."
The group leader shook her head. "I'm not assuming anything, merely observing. Why don't you tell me where you really went? I promise I won't tell anyone if you don't want me to." Of course Saris suspected what was really going on, she wasn't dumb. But she wanted Sun to confess it on her own. She wanted her group members to have that trust with her, as she was the oldest and the leader of the group.
"I told you I went out for some fresh air." Sun insisted. She wanted to tell her unnie where she had been for two hours. She wanted to tell her about her relationship with Lay of EXO, who was supposed to be considered the enemy. She wanted to talk to her about how she felt, like any normal young woman her age. But she couldn't. Saris would never accept it, and she would surely not keep the secret, as much as she assured Sun she would. She would probably tell their management and they would force her to end it, they would punish her for it. Her mind raced with terrified thoughts of how their careers would be ruined if people found out.
Saris wasn't satisfied with the response, but didn't press any further. She was a bit hurt that the group's maknae, who they all made sure to take care of, was keeping secrets from her unnies.
The twenty year old got her cellphone out of her pocket and looked at the time. It was a quarter past five in the morning and they would be getting up at eight to go to the airport. The girls of BLM would be travelling to China to shoot promos for their upcoming projects, as well as to promote their perfume--Sunshine--that would be on the market within a few more days.
