twenty two—
"where are we going now?" jimin asked. jungkook stopped at a large door. dark brown and wooden, metal locks on the side and a heavy binder that held it to the wall. it even had one of those sliding peep holes in the middle.
"here." jungkook said. he knocked on the door, leaving jimin completely confused at the sudden halt in their pace. a flit of anxiety directed at the odd door made him gulp spare saliva silently down his throat. he wondered if he did something wrong.
the peep hole slid open, and an eye appeared glaring angrily at the two of them.
"who is it?" a voice hissed. jungkook chuckled and a smile then appeared on his face.
"ms. habok it's me, jungkook," jungkook said. the eye immediately relaxed and slid the peep hole back to a close. there were a few clicks and bangs of the locks being undone, and them the door was swung open. revealing a buff old woman who was baring a bright smile at them now.
"kwon's son! how could i forget you jungkook?" she exclaimed and snatched him into her arms. she hugged him tightly, almost breaking jungkook in the process but she let him go soon enough. "come in, come in!"
jungkook gestured for jimin to come inside, so he hesitantly walked after jungkook who was beginning to walk off with the old woman known as ms. habok.
"what brings you here?" ms. habok asked. jimin almost shuddered on the other side of jungkook. this old woman was so muscly and hardcore he didn't even want to think about what would happen if you got on her bad side. jungkook sighed, casting a sideways glance at jimin, obviously knowing about his meekness towards her.
"i want to see my father," he answered her. she looked at him, clearly wondering why, but she didn't say anything about it.
"well you know where to go," she said. "ill be where i normally am if you need anything." jungkook nodded and headed off down a small carpeted hallway. jimin quickly ambled after him. once he caught up with the other, he said something.
"you wanted to see your father?!" jimin whispered. jungkook hummed in response, and suddenly stopped at a door.
"he can help us," he said, and the male pushed the door open. the door was cast ajar revealing what seemed to be a large office. a desk sat in the middle of the room in the back, windows spanned out across the wall behind the desk, and there were a few shelves along the walls. and sitting at the desk staring at a computer screen, was a very professional looking man.
"dad," jungkook said. the man looked up from his work, and smiled at them.
"jungkookie." he said and gestured to the seats in front his desk, "come sit. i already have an idea of what you're here for." the two sat, jimin awkwardly staring at the floor and jungkook with crossed legs while staring intensely at his father.
"so, introduce me to this young man," his father spoke. jimin jerked his head up at attention, shyly looking him in the eyes. jungkook propped his head up on his fist and sighed.
"this is jimin. the one you assigned to me." jungkook said, and then he grinned. "thank you for that by the way," he mumbled. his father caught it and nodded to him.
"well, nice to meet you jimin-sshi." his father stood from his seat and held out a hand to shake. jimin scrambled up and took his hand, lightly shaking it with a small smile. "you seem nervous, is there something bothering you?" jimin froze in his position, and shook his head slowly from side to side.
"n-no, it's just ive heard about you and your work mr. kwon," jimin said and mentally cursed himself for stuttering at all. "it's very fortunate that the crime scene got you when it did." jungkooks father started laughing and raised a hand to keep him from speaking.
"oh that's very nice of you, but those days are behind me. that's why ive set up this prison," he said with a laugh. "now i know jungkook wants to get down to business, so son." the man turned his menacing stare to his son who didn't pay it any mind. "what is it you need from me?"
"i want chen taken care of." jungkook said. "and i want information on jongin so i can get him out." his father sighed and leaned back into his chair.
"what do you mean by taken care of?" his father asked.
"well i know chen doesn't have any family outside of this prison or any money in reserve for when he gets out, so id really like him dead. but if you can't do that, he needs to be transferred. i know you've noticed all the trouble those two have been causing. and it's been affecting jimin. so i want it gone before something happens that we can't change." jungkook explained his reasoning, and at the mention of killing chen, jimin whipped his head to the side to stare in bewilderment at jungkook. jungkook didn't return his gaze. instead, jungkook completely ignored him.
"hm," his father murmured. "i can give you jongin's file and i know you'll whip up something to get him out. chen on the other hand... our best bet with him is transferring him to the military prison." jungkook nodded.
"sounds like a plan," he said. "file?" he held out a hand. his father snatched something quickly out from under the desk and set it into jungkooks empty palm. a folder it was.
he began flipping through the pages and talking to his father about what they could do, and jimin sat there watching their exchange. the two acted as if they've done something like this before, and not only once. maybe they had. it was a prison full of people who have committed a crime. something was bound to happen when you put lots of bad people together. he watched jungkook briefly lick his lips and nod his head at something his father said, then he turned a page, noted something down and he set the file on the desk.
"ok then," jungkook looked at jimin. now he was relaxed and had a happy smile on his face. "we'll call one of jongin's relatives and tell them to use the money in jongins bank account to bail him out. then they'll come pick him up, and he'll be free. and chen will be sent to the military based prison where their treatment is much harsher."
jimin smiled faintly back at jungkook. he was confused about everything, but he knew he could ask the questions he had later. jungkook stood up and shot a grin at his father.
"thanks for helping me dad," jungkook smiled. "try not to let word get out that it was my idea. people will come after us again." his dad nodded.
"but have they ever been any trouble for you?" his father teased. jungkook only waved a hand and chuckled.
"nope."
then they left his office with jungkook and his father exchanging a quick hug. jimin began thinking to himself about jungkook's words and how he seemed like he was so sure of what to do. he glanced at him, unsure of whether to ask. so he did.
"oh i was raised doing all this stuff," jungkook smiled. "it's kinda become natural for me to know now." jimin nodded and a grin broke out across his face.
"so you were raised as a guard? i wonder who else you dated besides jongin, since you got the chances," jimin teased. jungkook shrugged.
"actually nobody. since im gay, and not many people admit it nowadays, i was pretty single back then. other than jongin." jungkook laughed awkwardly. jimin raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"you're gay?" he exclaimed.
"yeah." jimin's grin widened from ear to ear and his heart began racing inside his chest, making jimin's already sweaty hands clench and unclench at his sides.
"oh that's cool. because im about as straight as a circle," jimin laughed. it was jungkooks turn to laugh too, and then quickly look at him in shock.
"really?"
"yep," jungkook smiled lightly also.
"well, good to know." jungkook said. his eyes averted elsewhere, lips curled up into what seemed like a sly grin. maybe jimin was just imagining things.
the older focused his attention back to his front as they exited the office, and he couldn't help but blush. indeed, it was good to know.
