twenty four—
the day passed pretty quickly after lunch. jimin and jungkook had finished up their classes and managed to avoid jongin and his buddies for the whole day. it was nothing short of a miracle really.
but the day had tuckered them both out, and jimin wanted nothing more than to curl up in jungkooks bed. but sadly they were back to sleeping in the cell. their beds in the cell were just barely satisfying to their bodies. even though jimin would wake up with an aching back at times, it was better than nothing.
"so, since it is more than likely that an asshole or two–" jungkook was saying.
"language." jimin sighed. cursing wasn't something he wanted to hear so late at night with all of his worries running wild in his head. no matter how odd it was of him.
"–a person or two with bad intentions will be stopping by sometime when they think i'll be unaware, i just want to warn you if anything happens don't leave the cell. you can trust me to do my job, and guard you," jungkook spoke.
jimin sat on his bed, staring at the ground and swinging his legs back and forth. he just nodded. so it was jungkooks job to guard him. of course it was. he was an idiot to think otherwise.
"as long as im around, i promise no one will touch you. so, don't worry about me at all, don't leave the cell, don't do anything to help. thats what they want." jimin listened to jungkook explain. he didn't say anything, he just nodded. he felt like he would say something wrong and make jungkook mad, and now he even felt useless because jungkook was doing everything for him.
"jimin?" jungkook asked. jimin slowly looked up from the floor, his eyes meeting jungkooks abruptly. "you're not saying anything. is everything alright?" jimin swallowed and just nodded once again, ripping his gaze from jungkooks to continue staring at the floor.
"im not useless am i?" jimin whispered. he didn't think jungkook would hear it, but he did. and he stomped over and lifted jimins head to look at him.
"you think you're useless?" jungkook asked. "is that it?" jungkook maintained a fierce stare with jimin, and he averted his eyes, looking anywhere but into jungkooks big brown orbs. "jimin, look at me."
so he did. he slowly drug his eyes up to jungkooks face, and looked him in the eye.
"do you think you're useless?" jungkook asked once again. jimin nodded vaguely. he felt like crying, because now jungkook would think lowly of him and look at him in disgust.
"jimin..." jungkook smiled and his gaze softened. jungkook watched as jimins face grew into a sad frown, and he almost looked like he was going to burst into tears, which jungkook didn't want at all. he moved his hand to jimins cheek and lifted his head once again. he wiped away the small tears that had formed under his eyes and chuckled lowly. "you're not useless at all."
jimin sniffed and rubbed his eyes. "yeah right, you're just saying that because you don't want me to cry."
"maybe," jungkook laughed again. "but don't think that okay? you're not useless." jimin sniffled again and nodded. "and don't nod either. say something."
"okay," jimin giggled lightly and jungkook's smile got bigger. something about jimins laugh had always made him smile. it was just so... fresh and genuine. pure.
"good," jungkook set a hand on jimins head and tousled his hair. "now that we're about to sleep why not get ready?" jimin laughed and stood up. he took his cell pajamas from under his bed and made sure jungkook turned around before he began slipping off his shirt.
"ooh jimin, you're pretty handsome~" jungkook called. jimin blushed immediately and whipped his head around to find jungkook staring at him with a wicked smirk plastered on his face.
"stop looking!" jimin squeaked and covered his body.
"no need to be shy i saw you in the shower once–" jungkook teased. but jimin chucked whatever he grabbed behind him at jungkook, which happened to be jungkooks baton. it hit him with a thud, and jungkook raised his hands in surrender. "fine,"
and with that jungkook turned around, and stared outside the cell. there were a few guards walking with their prisoners along the cell rows. they looked like the prison should normally be. peaceful and helping its prisoners find a better purpose and realize that whatever they did to get in here was wrong.
chen and jongin prevented the prison from working its actual magic, and that's why he knew he would have to face them once and for all tonight.
a weird fight for the prison, but nevertheless it was meaningful and it would keep jimin protected. he glanced behind him, seeing jimin pulling on his pants. if it was for jimin, he'd do it. anything for him was worth it. after all, he cared about him more than he would admit.
