Danny’s POV

There was a knock on my front door, and before I could go to answer it, whoever it was walked in. Moments later Harry showed up in the kitchen, shopping bags in his hands. He set them on the counter and started pulling things out of them.

“Good timing, mate,” I said. “I was just getting ready to leave. You know where everything is, but if you need anything, just give me a call.”

“Course,” Harry smiled. I grabbed my keys and started towards the door.

“See ya in a bit,” I said.

“Danny!” he called as I was almost out the door. I turned around to look at him. “Try not to snog too much in public!” I laughed, waved, and left. Harry was going to cook dinner while I picked Kyle up from the airport. Dougie, Tom, and Liz (Harry’s girlfriend) would join us for dinner. I hopped in my car and started the drive to the airport. My fingers tapped on the steering wheel almost the whole time. Why was I so nervous? I couldn’t explain it. To give myself something to do as I drove instead of just thinking about my nerves, I searched through the music stations trying to find one Kyle might like.

When I got there, I parked and walked into the airport. I forgot her flight number, but I was able to find it pretty easily as it was the only flight coming in from Shannon. I only had to wait about 15 minutes for the plane to arrive. Not long after, I saw Kyle walking towards me, but she hadn’t seen me yet. I jogged over and wrapped her in a hug.

“Hi Danny!” she said, wrapping her arms around me, too. She looked up at me with a huge smile on her face.

“I’ve missed you, Kyle. Writing’s nice, but just not the same as seeing you,” I told her. She leaned up and kissed me. After a few moments, I pulled away, thinking of what Harry’d said. I let her go and took her hand as we went to pick up her suitcase. “How are you?”

She yawned. “Tired as fuck!” We laughed.

“Why? Did you not sleep well?”

“Sophie and I didn’t sleep at all last night. We had to cram for midterms.” We stopped at baggage claim and looked for her suitcase. I kissed her temple.

“I’m sorry. Did the exams go well?”

“Yeah they were actually pretty easy and only like half of what we studied was on them.”

            “That sucks.”

“It’s better to study too much than not enough, though. Not that I like studying. And we didn’t even actually study that much. We spent most of the night goofing around. Oh, there it is!” She dropped my hand and quickly moved forward to snag her suitcase. I tried to take it from her, but she wouldn’t let me. She grabbed my hand again and I led her out to my car.

“So Harry’s back at my house making dinner,” I said when we got on the road. “Dougie, Tom, and Liz, Harry’s girlfriend, will be coming over, too. I think we’ll get home about the time they arrive.”

            “Sounds good.” She smiled.

I turned the radio up a little. “I tried finding a station you might like, but go ahead and change it if you want.”

“I’m sure as hell not changing this!” she said and turned the volume way up. She sang along:

“I miss the bad things,
