I'm so, so sorry I haven't updated in a while. Studying abroad is such a crazy and fun experience! But I didn't have as much time to write and update. I did write like 5 or 6 chapters while I was there, but I somehow lost them when I came back to the States :/ But I will no doubt be updating a lot more often now that I'm home and back in the swing of things. Enjoy!
Kyle’s POV
When we got home—it felt somewhat weird to be calling Danny’s house home—I sat down on the couch and waited for him to sit next to me. Instead, he pushed me over so I was lying on my back and crawled on top of me. “Now you have to tell me what was bothering you in the car,” he said. “I won’t get up until you do.”
“Oh really?” I said and raised my eyebrows. I found both his hands and entwined them in mine. “I was just thinking…..I have no idea what a normal relationship is supposed to be like.”
“Why do you say that?”
“When I told you about the apprenticeship, you looked so happy and excited, like it was your good news. I’ve never known anyone to do that except my mom and Kenzi, and so I wasn’t sure if that’s a normal thing in relationships, or if it was just you being nice.”
“I think it’s pretty normal when you really care about someone.”
“So you really care about me?”
“Of course I do. If I didn’t, would I be lying on top of you right now to force you to talk?”
“You’d probably be lying on top of me for a different reason.” He laughed and kissed me sweetly.
“So you’re okay?”
“I think so.” He rested his forehead on mine and I closed my eyes. “Hey Danny,” I whispered after a few seconds.
“Yeah?” he whispered back.
I opened my eyes so I could judge his reaction. “If you’re looking for a normal relationship, you’ve got the wrong girl.” He let out a puff of air like a laugh.
“I don’t know what I’m looking for, but I found the perfect girl.” I closed my eyes and chose not to say anything. I could tell he wanted to say the L-word but he knew I wouldn’t. We stayed there for a couple minutes before I pushed Danny over onto the ground. “Hey! What was that for?”
“I should write Kenzi,” I said. “And you were kinda squishing my boobs.”
Danny sat up, grabbed a boob in each hand, and rested his face in my cleavage. “I’m sorry my lovelies. I never meant to hurt you. Believe me, I didn’t,” he whispered to them. He looked up at me, a huge grin on his face.
“You are such a dweeb.” He kissed each boob once then let them go. I got up and grabbed paper and a pen from my bag and sat in front of the coffee table. Danny had left the room. He came back a few moments later with his computer and settled in on the couch behind me.
Kenzi,
Guess who got herself an amazing apprenticeship at Dark Horse Tattoo? Your lovely sister! Danny had a TV interview this morning, so I went down to the shop to see if they needed any help, and when I came back from getting everyone’s lunch, they offered me an apprenticeship. I don’t officially start there until we move here, but I’ll drop by at least once more this week when I have free time. I still don’t know what I’ll do for money, but I’ll figure something out.
