Fili searched for quite some time to find the right beads for Dawn hair. And then he had to make the carvings himself. That way she's know how special she was to him. After he found the beads, he began to carve them. This took him all night. But it was worth it.
Dawn spent all night in the old jewelers room, finding the best beads. Her main goal was to find beads that would best highlight his eyes. Finally, after the sky changed from night to dawn, she finally finished finding the amount of beads required and carved them all to the proper look she required.
The next day the two met in Bofurs quarters. Fili had arrived early. Bofur came out of his room an yawned. Dawn was soon seen in a long grey dress, cupping her hands while transitioning from looking at them to the direction she was doing. When she arrived, she smiled as she showed her beads. She had worked on them all night. She found and made motivations to square beads of a metallic grey-blue, and carved in her initials on the back of each. Fili then showed her his. It was a multicolored mix of silver and earthy green. The silver ones were smooth and short, while the green ones looked wooden carved from trees and were tall. Dawn loved the beads he made for her. Fili loved the beads she made for him.
"Ladies first," Bofur butted in. Dawn cleared her throat.
"May I have the honor to braid you?"
"You may."
They went to a table and sat. Dawn then began to take strands of hair from the mustache part of his beard. Once the braiding finished, it took Dawn a bit to figure out how to put the bead in his hair, but eventually she succeeded. She then braided the other half, and then several braids in his hair. She did her best to not pull on the hair, and if she pulled a bit, Fili sucked it up. It was an honor for her to be braiding his hair, and if that meant a few strands pulled, then it was worth it.
When she finished, Fili stood and held out his beads. "May I have the honor to braid you?" Fili asked. Dawn nodded with a giggle. "You may."
Fili made two braids on the sides of her head and connected them to the back of her head, sealing them with a bead. He then braided the ends of her hair with the beads. Dawns hair was silky smooth and soft as Fili's fingers ran through them. When he completed his work, they looked at each other, looking pridefully towards their work. They did not want to look at how their braiding looked. They trusted each other enough to know that it was amazing. Bofur, whom was observing, nodded in approval.
"The first stage is complete. Now you better go. We're supposed to continue searching."
