Ori was walking to Dawns room. He still couldn't believe what Kili said. It was all a cruel joke. He knew that Thorin wasn't completely right in the head lately, but never to that extent. He had to ask Dawn herself what was happening. But before her could turn to the next hall, he stopped. There in the middle of the hallway was Dawn, in her nightgown, with Thorin. But Dawn looked frightened.
"I...I need to see Bilbo," she said.
"You aren't going anywhere until you tell me what you saw!" Thorin yelled as he grabbed her arm, pointing to her hand. Ori squinted to see, and saw an emerald marking on her palm. She must have gained another power. And if Thorin asked about what she saw, she must have inherited foresight.
"Y-You're hurting me," said Dawn with fear in her eyes. She began to struggle, but Thorin continued to keep is grasp.
"You're going to be in a lot more pain after I'm done with you!" he roared. He the began to drag the girl back to her room. Ori watched in horror as Dawn struggled, while repeatingle screaming out for Bilbo. And just like that, the two were in her room, and Thorin slammed to door shut. Ori turned to the direction he came from and began to run. He had to get Bilbo. He had to get Kili. He had to get somebody.
As Bilbo was looking at the night sky view, he thought about his current plan. Should he give the Arkenstone to the enemy? Will he be willing to face Thorin's wrath? But his thoughts soon were interrupted by the sound of running. As he turned, he saw Ori, pale as a ghost. Kili, who was nearby Bilbo, stood up to see what was wrong.
"Ori? What is it?" Bilbo asked.
"It's Dawn...Thorin..." Before the young dwarf could finish his sentence, he took a deep breath, and looked at Kili. "Kili, I'm sorry I doubted you."
"Oh my god." There then was an echo. An echo of a scream. The prince then began to run. Confused and worried, Bibo followed the two dwarves. Through the halls, they could hear echoes of screaming getting softer by the minute. This motivated them to run faster. Before they could turn to the hallway, they stopped to see if Thorin was still inside, or coming out. Sure enough, Thorin was coming out, and holding three viles of an unknown substance.
"What's in those?" Ori whispered.
"I have an idea, but I hope I'm wrong," Kili said.
As Thorin left the hallay, the trio continued to run to the room. But there was a problem. When they got to the door, it was locked. Bilbo began to furiously jiggle at the doorknob, but to no avail.
Just then, they heard footsteps, but they weren't Thorin's. They were Fili's. But his face was full of fear and anger.
"Where's Dawn!" demanded Fili. "I saw what Thorin was carrying."
"She's in her rom, but it's locked," Ori said. Fii immediately shoved the dwarf aside and took out one of his knives, and began to jiggle at the doorknob, until it was able to remarkably pick the lock. Fili ran in, feeling tears forming. He was so scared for Dawn.
As he looked into the room, to one side, the room was normal. But the other, at the far corner, was not. He could hear the sound of someone breathing heavily, as if they were crying. Fili was in horror. There in the far corner was Dawn. Her nightgown ripped, her body bruised, and her right hand covered with blood.
"Dawn!" Fili cried. He then ran to the girl, and embraced her tightly. He couldn't stop the hot tears running down his face. He coud have stopped this. He could have protected her. He should have protected her. But he didn't.
"Three...vials..." she said in a now hoarse voice. Fili continued to sob. Those vials Thorin had in his hand. They were her tears. What kind of a monster did his uncle become. The other three walked in, and looked in horror. Bilbo felt like he was about to cry, but did his best to hold it in. Kili was in shock to see his brother in tears, and how he could have done more to prevent it. Ori felt sick.
