After Mina regained conciseness and recovered from the blow to the head from vampire guards, she had heard Kingsford. She had moved to the bottom of the stairs and waited, watching Kingsford, ready to attack him when he made the wrong move.

But she couldn't wait anymore. She was furious. The vampire king was ignorant enough to believe he was all noble and perfect, when in reality he had kidnapped David to use him as a blood slave. Didn't they just recently throw him out to die after making him blind? Hadn't he just been let go and "freed"? Apparently not. Instead, it turns out David wasn't free. They had found a use for him and wanted him back.

Kingsford let out a sigh and cast a sideways glance over his shoulder at Mina, seeming undisturbed by her outburs. "What do you mean girl? The rest of my slaves are not innocent. I've dealt out their punishments myself." He replied, almost seeking bored.

Mina shook her head and raised the flickering flames of fire in her left hand. "Then what about David?! He wouldn't hurt anyone!!" She shouted out in rage again, keeping her hand up in the air, ready to chuck the ball of flames at him.

Kingsford sighed and turned around to face Mina. "Yes, yes, now he doesn't like hurting people... But that wasn't always the case. If you drop what you're holding in your freaky hand maybe I'll tell you about it." He let a small smile cross his lips.

Mina stared at Kingsford, weighing her options. Axel didn't wait around much longer and sprinted over to Katey's side, who stood against the far wall quietly watching.

"Fine." Mina reluctantly released the word and let her hand fall to her side, the orange fire ball dissipating.

Kingsford smirked, his eyes to glowing red as a black wooden stool formed behind himself and he sat down. "He has killed people, and I saw it all for myelf. He didn't kill one person, then another, and then another over a stretched out period of time. David completely destroied an entire village. He was the only one who survived. It's amazing really, considering he was only six years old at the time." He spoke everything plainly and folded his hands over his knee.

"Liar. You're lying!" Mina glared at him and stepped back.

He just laughed dryly and shook his head. "Silly girl. I have nothing to gain from lying to you, so why would I do that?..."

"Because you'd cruel and twisted!" Mina stepped back again.

"Hmmm.. I have been called cruel, but I'm not very twisted. Besides, I saw everything with my own eyes. I was notified of the attack against the village but I arrived too late... The whole village was in ruins. No structure remained standing. Every single ounce of life had been smothered and was gone. All except for one lone, six year old boy. His heart continued to beat as he wandered through the ruins of his home town. I believe he was in shock at the time... Oh, did I mention he even killed his whole family?" He looked down and started to straighten his tie. He relished every second of Mina's anger and loved to watch her get all worked up.

"You can't make up all these lies about David!!" This time Mina lunged at the king, her clawed hand out stretched and ready to strike. Her claws sunk into the wooden stool, as Kingsford now stood behind her. He moved too fast for her to see, and for her to react.

Mina attempted to pull her claws free of the stool without luck. A frown appeared on her face as she grew frustrated and realized she was stuck. For some reason the stool wouldn't move either, and she could only assume it was part of the vampire king's magic.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk.." Kingsford shook his head with each tsk and his finger wiggled back and forth in a disproving manner. "I'm not lying girl. He murdered everyone in that village, and to this day, I have no idea why or how. In all his years of slavery, not once did he display any supernatural powers to me, or a desire to kill. That slave was an odd case... He admitted to destroying the village, but would never say why or how. I was left with no choice but to present the choice of death or slavery to him."

"You-... He was a kid!! How can you be so sure he killed everyone in that village?!" Mina turned around as best she could with her hand stuck in the stool to face Kingsford.

"How come he was the only one that survived? I don't know everything dear." Kingsford rolled his eyes, getting annoyed.

Katey stepped forwards now, moving over she helped Mina free her hand from the stool. "Just leave." Katey spoke coldly and avoided looking at the king. "You've done enough and proved your point."

"Finally you have some sense little vampire." He chuckled and then vanished into thin air, teleporting away.

"You can't just let him go! Not like that!!" Mina yelled yet again and glared at Katey.

With a final tug, Katey freed Mina's clawed fingers from the black stool, which then vanished once Mina was freed. "He wasn't going to say what you wanted him to Mina, and he was just making you more and more mad... You're lucky he was only toying with you and didn't get mad at your outbursts. He could have really hurt you Mina..."

"He can't lie like that about David!" Mina stated at Katey, then glanced at Axel.

She hadn't paid attention to the boy, but his head hung low now. "He wasn't lying...." Axel mumbled quietly, then went down the stairs towards his sister.
