David stared in the direction of the noise. Time began to drag by. Seconds turned to minutes. And somewhere around half an hour, Mina appeared. The scales covering her palm on her dragon arm gave off a faint glow. Most likely from constantly holding and chucking fire balls.

She wasn't alone though. Katey and Trix were fighting alongside Mina. Then the occasional bolt of lightning caused David's attention to shift to an unfamiliar person. David had no clue who or what he was. They didn't sound like anyone else he knew. They didn't make a sound, except for the thunder following what he assumed were bolts of electricity. If it weren't for the fact David could see the stranger by using sound waves, David wouldn't have known they were there.

"David!" Mina let out a shout. Her voice held worry, fear, and anger. He had expected that from her. She must be worries because of the condition he was in. Though he could not see himself, he was able to imagine what he looked like. Tattered clothes, numerous bite marks in various stages of healing, mangled wrists, sickly pale skin, and weak. He had seen enough blood slaves to know this was the case.

"David?!" The shout was from Mina yet again, but this time it was closer. The crashing of metal was lessening now, meaning there was less guards to fight.

David opened his mouth to talk. His voice coming out in a croak from weeks of no use. "I'm ok..."

"Just hang in there!" She must have been just outside the cell now. "I'll get you out of there!!"

David didn't have the strength to move anymore as he slowly lowered his head and went limp. "A-Alright..." Lifting his head and standing up must have sapped his strength. Combined with the fact he had repeatedly been drained of blood until he passed out throughout his time here, it was just too much. Sounds starting to seem more distant and softer, like someone had put cotton in his ears. His eyes drooped and threatened to close from fatigue, and now a more pressing urge to fall asleep.

"Hey! Stay with me David!" There was a clunk; the lock being melted off and hitting the floor. Mina charged into the cell. He felt her hands grabbing his fore arms and the clamps around his wrists. Her scales were warm, but didn't burn him. He was sure she was being careful not to hurt him.

The clamps slid off his wrists, seeming to bend to Mina's will. Wait, it did hurt.. His muffle and slow thoughts now registering the pain from the metal being heated up.

"I'm sorry David..." Mina must have seen him wince. She sounded so far away. Her voice was fading away, he couldn't quite her what she was staying anymore... "Dav...... with.. no don't... please be al...." Sleepy. So sleepy. He stopped fighting his fatigue and allowed himself to collapse against Mina, his eyes closing. He needed to sleep...

Mina caught David as he passed out. Her gut was knotted in fear as she picked him up, holding him over her shoulder. She needed to have her left arm free to fight with if needed, because she wasn't going down without a fight. She was so close to getting David out of this wretched place that she could picture the group exiting the castle. Giving up was not an option. All she could do now was fight her way out and hope that David lasted long enough that they could safely get him to Kevin.

Not wasting another minute, Mina ran over to rejoin the group with her limp friend. "I got him, let's get out of here!" She shouted so they could hear.

Katey looked at Mina and nodded. Her eyes were a deep red, matching the color of the liquid that now coated her two katanas. "Follow me, we're leaving!" She flipped a sword around in her hand without breaking eye contact with Mina and plowed it straight into the heart of guard behind her. The guard's eyes went wide as he dropped his sword, which had previously been aimed at Katey, then went limp. Katey continued to not look at the guard as she yanked her sword out and flipped it around in her hand again so the blade pointed up.

Without a word, she turned and ran at a wall, her eyes growing an eerie red as all the guards in her path were shoved to the walls by an invisible force. Trix, Figure, and Mina with her limp cargo followed close behind Katey. They sped through the corridors in the direction they had originally come from. Dead guards and blood littered their path but now one slipped out tripped as they ran. Katey continued pinning new guards or people that appeared in their path with the same invisible force. Occasionally, they would round a corner and Katey wouldn't have time to pin the guard down, so instead she slashed through the guard with her sword, not seeming to worry about death blows anymore. But it didn't matter. The guard was no longer a threat with one arm or one leg.

Suddenly large doors, approximately 10 feet wide and some 20 feet tall, appeared in their path. The exit. The doors were made of precious black stone and ornately decorated with silver. It was almost a shame to see Katey launch into the air with her swords crossed in front of herself. Her eerie glowing eyes flashed brightly as she let slashed forwards with her swords, sending a wave of the same energy she used to pin the guards, this time visible with a distinct red glow. The X-shaped energy plowed into the sturdy doors. It never stood a chance. The energy not only sliced through the stone with easy, but sent chunks of thick black stone and mangled pieces of silver flying outwards. Only the outer edges of the door stood roughly intact, though, they were hardly recognizable as the magnificent door they were once a part of.

Katey leaped over the chunks of stone with ease and continued to speed forward. Mina followed, Trix and Figure close behind. She cocked her head to the side to look at David who still rested over her shoulder. He swayed back and forth slightly atop her shoulder, but he wasn't dead. She could see him breathe through his slightly parted mouth, calming her slightly. He was still alive, and now he was out of that dreadful castle. It seemed like things were going to turn out alright after all.
