I was in my wonderland, listening to American by Lana Del Rey. The plane rumbled and I opened my eyes to see we landed in Australia. My mother looked at me with wide happy eyes, like a kid on Christmas morning.

"We're home sweetie" She smiled. I groaned as I gathered my carry on stuff. I exited the plane and waited in the warm air for our baggage. The song changed to Bel Air by Lana Del Rey. I folded my arms as I looked around us. It was different.

After a two hour car ride and many songs later, I woke up to see the little yellow house sitting on the corner. The front door was a lighter shade of yellow and very pretty. We climbed the wooden yellow stairs and to the door. My mom fussed with her keys before finding the right one.

The front door opened up to the living room. It was big, with high ceilings and pale yellow walls. Who's ever house this used to be, they really liked yellow. The stairs were to the right, they were old and wooden and look scary. To the left, there was a door that had the word kitchen writte =n in neat cursive.

"Go to the top of the stairs and walk down the long hallway. That door at the end, is yours." My mom said winking at me before heading to the kitchen to start unpacking. I heaved my stuff up the stairs and walk down the long hallway. There were many doors. One I could see was a bathroom, and the rest bedrooms. The door at the end was shut, but when I opened it, it was huge. It had a walk out balcony and it was purple with a huge bed in the middle.

A vintage dresser sat against the far wall and there was a bathroom attached with a shower and jacuzzi. I started to unpack my things, setting it all up, and looking around the house.

The next morning, was Monday. The start of my new school. I rolled out of bed and groggily walked into my bathroom. After a hot shower I did the normal makeup and straightened my hair. I put on a black shirt and ripped jeans and headed out.

The school was pretty close to my house, and it was a lot smaller. I headed to guidance to see where I would be going.

The guidance lady was nice, and she gave me my schedule and told me about my tour guide. Her name was Lily. Lily bounced in the room. She had big brown curls and a very happy face. She looked at me and smiled.

"Hi! You must be Carter! I'm Lily. Lily Johnston." She put her hand out for me to shake. I shook it and threw her a small smile. She took my schedule and led me around. Pointing to my classrooms and finally got me to my locker.

"Do you need anything else?" She said smiling at me.
"I don't think so. I got it from here. Thanks for all the help though. You were great." I said flashing her a smile.
"Well, if you ever need anything, you know where to find me." She turned and bounced down the hall way.

I sat down in my first class, science. I sat in the back away from everybody. I was doodling on my notebook when someone sat in front of me. He turned to look at me and tapped his pencil on my desk, catching my attention. He had bright green hair and an eyebrow piercing. He had a few bands tattooed on his forearm and bicep. He was wearing a ripped Nirvana tee shirt.

"You're not from around here are you?" He said with a thick Australian accent.
"Is it that noticeable." I said sighing, closing my notebook.

"American accent. Nice. I'm Michael." He said smiling at me. "Carter." I replied.

"So what brought you here to Australia?" He asked continuing to tap his pencil on my desk.

"My mom got transferred, I got dragged along." I said looking into his eyes.

"I think you'll like it here, America." He said winking before turning around. I had a good feeling I was going to like him.

The rest of the day dragged on. It was finally lunch. I arrived late and went to the table in the back, where no one was sitting. I put my headphones in a started to draw until someone sat next to me.

I looked up to the boy with green hair next to me.

"Whatca drawing?" He asked looking at my work.

"Nothing particular." I responded looking down at it.

"How do you like Sydney so far?" He asks looking at me.

"I'd rather be back in my hometown with my friends." I said.

He chuckled before answering, "You haven't seen anything of Sydney have you?" I shook my head and looked back at my drawing.

"Lemme take you out America. I'll show you all the incredible places and you'll fall in love with Australia." Michael said.

"It's Carter, and I'm up for that. Be at my house at 6:30, don't be late." I said smirking at him.

"Woah Clifford already got the new girl," I heard another Australian accent say. I looked up to see two boys. One was tall with a gray shirt. He had brown hair that was flopped on his head and reaching into his eye. His arms were muscular and his face was kind.

The other boy had brown hair, pushed into a slight quiff. He had a few blonde strands blended in with the brown. He was also very attractive, with very nice brown eyes.

"Ah, cut it out, this is the new girl. From America. I just told her I was gonna show her around." Michael said.
The two boys took their seats and smiled at me.

"Hi! I'm Ashton." The first boy said smiling at me. "I'm Calum" the other guy said.

"I'm Carter." I responded throwing them a small smile.

"I like your accent. I love American accents they're sexy." Calum said. I chuckled and smiled at him.

The lunch period went on, we talked about a lot and I really started to like them. That's when another boy walked up to the boys, talking to Calum. I've never seen a more attractive boy in my life. He had blonde hair, styled in a quiff, he had tattoos over his arms and neck and he had a lip piercing. He was tall and lengthy. I couldn't stop staring.

The boys eyes moved over to mine and I quickly looked down. I heard quiet talking, I looked up again to see him leaning down talking to Ashton. I couldn't get my eyes off of his sharp jawline and crystal blue eyes. His head snapped up again looking at me, like he heard my thoughts. I looked down again picking up my pencil and drawing little lines all over the paper.

After a conversation with Ashton, the boy walked away, I took that as my cue to look up.

"Who was that?" I asked looking between the boys.

"Luke Hemmings, stay away from him Carter he's bad news." Calum said.

"How so?" I asked raising an eyebrow.

"He lives alone, and he gets what he wants. Teachers are scared of him, he does what he wants. He fights all the time and always wins. He beats kids up and he sleeps with a different girl every week." Michael chipped in.

The bell rang and I gathered my stuff and headed out for my next period. I stopped at my locker and felt like I was being stared at. I looked over to see the beautiful boy leaning against the wall on the other side of the hallway. His crystal eyes were burning holes in my eyes. His hands were in his pocket, and his face was blank and emotionless. I felt very self conscious about him staring at me, but I couldn't look away. We stared at each other for what felt like forever until Ashton broke it.

"Carter?" I blinked twice and shook my head looking over to see Ashton staring at me.

"Sorry, what?" I asked returning to my locker. "I asked what you had next period, are you alright?" He said, his eyebrows knitted together and he looked confused.

"Yeah, just thinking. And I have math next." I answered looking at the sheet in front of me. "Yay! So do I!" He replied cheerily. I grabbed the rest of my stuff and turned around, Luke was gone. I felt a wave of sadness and relief run over me, and we made our way to math.
