11. Lost

*Simon's POV*

I was talking to Beth. I was sticking to the plan. This was definitely going to work. I had possibly the easiest part in the plan. Well, until Beth's friend came along.

"Hi, I know Beth and Emily but what's your name?" I asked.

Lauren.

Lauren A.K.A the prettiest girl I had ever seen.

I wasn't going to let this interrupt the plan. I was doing this for Vik. If the plan worked and Vik finally ended up with Beth then I'm pretty sure I'd be seeing more of Lauren anyway.

I sent the text through to Vik. The plan was working so far.
Vik arrived and took over.
"Hey Simon, there's some girls over there who wanted to speak to you. I guess I'm not good enough." Vik laughed.
That was my cue to leave.

*Vik's POV*

I looked to the three girls in front of me, trying to contain my excitement of finally seeing Beth again. My brain was having a hard time thinking of things to say, so I went into 'meet and greet mode'

"Hey, it's nice to see you all again! How are you?" I exclaimed.

"I'm good, did you enjoy the holiday?" Emily replied

"Yeah, it was great." I looked at Beth "Fantastic, even." She looked down to hide her blush, but I still caught it and couldn't help the smile on my face.

At that moment, Josh runs over to grab Lauren and Emily's attention but Beth ends up getting involved in the conversation. Although it wasn't part of the plan, it worked in my favour, giving me time to encourage myself.

I strolled over to Beth, tapping her on the shoulder.

"Hey, can I speak to you for a sec?" I asked

"Sure" she replied, confused. The other girls were too involved in their conversation with Josh to notice Beth walking away. I smiled at him gratefully whilst he shot me a discreet thumbs up, like the dad he is.

"So, I wanted to ask you something that I've been meaning to for a long time" I reached into my back pocket to get the ring I'd bought for her, but I found it empty.
