30b. The Hunt

*Vik's POV*

"Where is she?" I asked. I needed to apologise. I didn't even give her the chance to.

"She's in my room!" Simon claimed.

We went to Simon's room to find out his room was empty. There was no sign of Beth anywhere. We checked the whole house. Still no sign of her. We were all getting really worried.

"This is my fault."

"It's not Vik!" Simon said. "You can't blame yourself!"

"Well I need to go find her."

"I'm coming then." Simon demanded.

I wasn't going to let him clean up my mess. I needed to do this myself. This never would have happened if I stayed with her. Or if I listened to her. I felt like such a dickhead.

"I'm going alone. This is a mess I need to clean." I stated.

I stormed out the door shutting it. I was determined to make things right. It shouldn't be too hard hunting for Beth. I mean, I've done it before.

I got in my car and started my hunt to find her. I searched all around the streets. She couldn't have gone far, right? She was walking, I had a car. Maybe I wasn't looking carefully enough. I decided to look around the streets again. Still nothing.

I receive a text from Simon. 'Any luck?'
'Not yet.'
'Try the park, she said she loved it there. You don't have to it's just a suggestion.'

That was a perfect idea! She had always been asking to go to that same park ever since she and Simon went. I drive there hoping that if she did go there, she was still there.

I pulled up in the car park opposite and ran over the road into to park. I heard crying. I followed to sound to reveal Beth crying down on a bench.

I went over and sat down next to her.
"I understand."

She lifted her head, she was speechless.

"We're going to be alright. You do know that?" I tried reassuring her.

"No we're not! I ruined your birthday." She paused for a little while. "I ruined everything."

"You did not! It was a mistake. We all make them."
She still wouldn't believe me.

"This is the end, isn't it?" She asked looking at me.

"Of course not."
I pulled her into I hug before saying.

"This is just the beginning."
