22. Distractions

*Beth's POV*

1st August, 9:02 am

I started planning out in my head the distraction for Vik. Simon said he needed him gone between about 1 until the start (6). This gave him time to sort out everything and have the guests time to arrive. I just had to think about where I could take him.

11:56 am

It was time to put my plan into action. Vik came in and asked me what I wanted to eat (like he does all the time).

"I was thinking maybe we could go out today." I suggested. "We could go for foot down, to a movie or something."

I didn't actually plan where I wanted to go so I decided to let him choose.

"Actually, that's a good idea!" He said taking some weight off my shoulders. "We can decide when we get into central London."

12:30 pm

After grabbing our jackets and putting our shoes on we headed into London. We decided to go to Nando's because I love chicken!

Vik managed to get us a table away from everyone else so it was just us two. All of a sudden my phone started ringing, it was Simon. But I didn't tell Vik that.

'Mind if I take this?' I asked politely.

"Yeah, I was actually just about to go to the toilet." He replied.

He left. The timing couldn't have been so good. I answered the phone.

"Simon you're gonna have to be quick because Vik just went to the toilet." I said.

"Okay, So am I meeting Lauren and Emily at the train station or airport?" Simon asked through the phone.

"Lauren's getting the train down, so train station."

"Okay cool, what time again?" He asked. I had told him several times this morning.

"4:30, anything else?" I asked.

"Nope, bye!"
He hung up. How rude, I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye. But for some reason that made me laugh.

Vik came back about 10 second after the call and I was still chuckling.

"What's funny?" He asked.

"Just a joke Lauren told me." I lied.

"What joke?" He asked. Again.

"Oh just an inside joke really. Lauren thinks she's a bird."

Either that comment or my laughter made vik laugh. This made us look like psychopaths when our food arrived.

3:15 pm

After we finished our food and had a long chat. We decided to take a trip to Hyde Park.  We walked around for about 40 minutes before sitting down at a bench. We talked about weird topics such as 'what if cats thought they were dogs' and 'what would a tree think'. But they were quite interesting conversations. I was able to find out more about Vik as I was able to explore his mind more. We sat and talked for about an hour.

4:55 pm

"Shall we head back now?" He asked.

I still had time to kill. I needed to think of something quickly.

"Is it alright if we go to costa before?"

I don't even like coffee so I had no idea why those words came out of my mouth. But it was just to kill time.
