The one day you naturally wake up before your alarm is the day when you're exhausted until midnight.

You went through your morning routine lazily, except as you had no work that day (it was Saturday), you changed into your favourite shirt and jeans, still sticking with the converse. No work means no (R), so (D) was all yours.

You slid on your coat. "(D)!" You called her/him over to you, clipping the lead to her/his collar. "I'm thinking of visiting John today. Do you mind?" (D) barked happily, as if saying, "fine with me".
"Awesome. Let's go!"

You knocked on the door of 221B, waiting patiently. It opened and Mrs Hudson appeared. "Oh! Y/N! And (D)!" She was definitely surprised. Hopefully in a good way. "What are you doing here?"
"We've just come to visit for a while," you replied with a warm smile. "How are you, Mrs Hudson?"
She smiled cheerfully. "I'm very well, thank you. Do come in." She gestured you inside.
"Thank you. I don't think I'll be staying for long, though."
"John had just arrived. He came not five seconds ago." You thanked Mrs Hudson for the information gratefully and jogged upstairs with (D).

You saw the back of John as you came up the last few steps. "Sort of," you heard him say. "It sat there and I shouted abuse. Have you got cash?"
You took the opportunity to knock on the door. "What got abused?" John looked around and you gave him a cheeky grin. He returned it in a softer manner. Your eyes then drifted over and locked with Sherlock, who seemed to be holding back an amused smile over the top of a book he was reading. There wasn't a title on the main cover and the words on the spine were too small to make out.

You and Sherlock looked at each other for a few moments before John cleared his throat. Both pairs of eyes snapped towards him. "Y/N, morning. I got angry with a chip and PIN machine, that's all."
"Take my card," Sherlock nodded towards the kitchen, the answer to John's earlier question.

As John moved out of the way, a silver object was visible under Sherlock's chair. After a few blinks, you realised that it was a curved sword. "You could always go yourself, you know," John scolded his flatmate, turning around in front of the kitchen. "You've been sitting there all morning. You've not even moved since I left." He walked over to the table. You raised a doubtful brow in Sherlock's direction.

"And what happened about that case you were offered– the Jaria Diamond?" John was rummaging through Sherlock's wallet.
"Not interested." Sherlock bookmarked his reading position with a piece of paper and slammed it shut before noticing the sword by his feet. Quickly kicking it back, he caught your eye, made a silent 'shh' noise and winked. You nodded once, to show you understood and walked further into the flat. "I sent them a message."

As John placed down the wallet (you were standing behind Sherlock's chair now, (D) sitting beside his leg), you saw him lean over the table, sighing with a tut and rubbing at something. He sent Sherlock a look, to which he responded by shaking his head.

Without a word, John walked down the stairs, keen to tackle the self service machines again. Now it was just you and Sherlock. "So," you unclipped (D)'s lead, rolling it up and placing it in your back pocket before heading over and sitting down in John's armchair. (D) lay down beside Sherlock's feet. As he placed his book on the table with one hand, his other arm reached down and petted (D) on his/her head, watching as his/her tongue rolled out, beginning to pant. "How've you been?"
"Bored. And you?" He replied, directing his attention to you again, sitting upright. (D) whined, as if missing the attention of his/her new friend, and dug his/her nose between Sherlock's leg and the chair. A small chuckle resided from his throat as he glanced downwards.
"Fine, thanks. Anything exciting happening?" Sherlock immediately glanced towards John's laptop.
"I think we should find out."
