As i was walking towards the dorms my phone began to ring.
I looked down to find tahiti was calling.
"Hey sis!" i said slightly excited to hear from her. "good ,you answered." she said in a huff.
"I need you to find a place to sit really quick, there is some news i just found out some news that might be unbelievable ." she continued.
"Uh okay hold on one second." I said as i sat down at the nearest bench. "Okay now i'm sitting." i told her as i put my backpack down.
"I just found out that we have a half brother, His name is tyler." she told me.
what she said kept echoing in my head over and over again. we have a brother.. how? when was he born? how old is he. this is just too much .
i guess i silent to long because tahiti started yelling my name.
"tahani! you there?"
"Uh yeah... how did you find out this info" i asked.
"I actually received a letter in the mail from him stating that he's our brother and that he wanted to meet and talk." she said. "he also left his number on the letter and i ended up texting him and asking can we meet for coffee." she continued. "he told me the whole story or at least the story his mother told him."
she told me the whole story about how our father cheated on our mom one night while out with friends. Tyler's mom did not know he was married with a kid. It was only a one night stand. Our mom did find out about it which cause a lot of tension . that tahiti says she vaguely remember arguments as a child , she was 3 at the time. He told tahiti that once he was a few months old , his mom took him to the park , where she saw our parents and tahiti . She wanted to go up to him and introduce him to his son but she saw how beautiful our family was and how much love she saw , when our father looked at tahiti or our mom. She didn't want to break up a happy home any further so she never told him.
All this information was so much for me. All i wanted to do is cry. I had so many questions but no one to answer them. tahiti was a child too , she can't give me answers. Maybe i should go home this weekend and look through the boxes in our attic and see if i can find somethings.
I finally said my see ya laters to tahiti and collected all my thoughts and continue walking to my dorm.
The whole time i just couldn't stop thinking about it. I have a brother i never met or knew about. My dad cheated on my mom. Any hope i had about love has been punctured a little with this news.
i honestly don't even want to be bothered with people. i texted my sister and told her that i was coming home to visit this weekend , so contact tyler and we all should go to lunch or something. i also texted chase and told him we should hang out some other time.
I just wanted to be alone with my thoughts , maybe right in my journal a little tonight while going over my homework i already received and its only the first day of classes smh.
I finally made it to my dorm. Kendra wasn't there. She must be out with noah or something. i put my things down and decided to take a nice hot shower before i do any homework or writing.
- 15 minutes later-
i made it back to my room and made some tea, lit a candle and started writing.

i just got lost in writing in my journal that i didn't notice kendra came back to the dorm.
"Hey , tay. you alright?" she asked. " ehh. i've been better but i'm okay." i told her. "Oh okay, if you want to talk , you know i'm here. " she said sitting down on my bed trying to get me to look her in her eyes. i knew if i did i would break down and start crying and i really don't feel like it. i just want to think clearly. I also just don't want to be bothered right now.
"I'm just going to be doing some homework and then i'm off to bed. thanks for checking up on me tho." i said with a smile.
she got up from my bed and said something about heading to take a shower. i waved her off and continued working
