I was the last one to show up at the studio. Of course with my luck I had to get all the red lights. Everyone was setting up for the day of shooting. Setting up a chain linked fence and projectors and lights. So as usual it was hepatic. All my band mates where in the dressing room, getting their costumes and makeup on. Well all except for one.
Tomoya was in the back of the set. Putting his white metallic drums together. All he wore of his costume were the pants and the shoes. His pants were black leather with red and gold streaks that sparkled. A red and black jacket was tied around his waist. His brown hair was already made up. Spiking up a little bit. It looked like he already had his makeup on as well. All that was missing from his outfit was the top.
He looked up at me as I entered. A smile spread across his face. "It's about time you got here." He says, smiling all the while. He picks up one of his drum heads and puts it in its proper place. "Well the others are in the dressing room." He tells me, looking back up at me. Still smiling.
"Yeah thanks." I tell him before I continued down a hall way. Walking to the dressing room. Once I got there I didn't go in. Not right away. Instead I stood outside of the door. Watching everyone get ready. Kazuki was at a table eating a sandwich. Probably his breakfast. That reminds me that I haven't eaten yet. I guess I'll have to get something latter. He was dressed in black and red leather. His brown hair styled and his makeup on.
Koudai was seated in front of a wide mirror. Two people surrounding him. One styling his red and black hair. Pulling it up into a ponytail. The other was doing his makeup. He was not in his costume yet. Just wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
My eyes finally landed on Subaru. He was facing away from me. He was in the middle of putting his costume on. Just like Tomoya his shirt was off. Showing of his bare back. My breath got caught in my throat as images of last nights dream flooded back into my head. No one has seemed to notice me. So I stood in the door way as I watched him put on the top to his outfit. I could see the muscles move under his skin. His skin looks so soft and I... Stop it. Stop thinking like this. He's my best friend. I can't think of him like that. I mentally kicked myself.
Koudai looked up at that moment. Noticing me in the mirror. "Kuina, you're here." He says excitedly. Everyone looked up at me in that moment. Kazuki stopped eating and looked up. And Subaru turned around to face me as he finished pulling his shirt down.
As Subaru looked at me I could feel my heart beating faster. My face was starting to heat up a bit. Of course those stupid images kept flashing through my head. Damn. He smiled at me, showing off his white teeth. From just that smile I could feel my face burning up even more. Why was this happening to me? "Hey, what took you so long?" He asks. Snapping me from my thoughts. "Let me guess, you slept in too late." He adds before I had a chance to say anything. Laughing a little.
I joined in with his laughter. Though my laughter was more nervous than anything else. He easily notices my uneasiness, for he raised a questioning eyebrow at me. I smiled. "Yeah, I didn't get much sleep last night and traffic was horrible. I'll be fine." I assure him. Hey, it wasn't all a lie. My sleep was horrible and traffic was pretty bad. I walked up to one of the makeup mirrors and sat down. A makeup artist came over to me a began doing my makeup. Obviously in a hurry to get me ready for filming.
Subaru stood behind me. I looked at his reflection in the mirror. His brown eyes full of concern. He watched the makeup artist work on me. His eyes suddenly snapped to me. Making eye contact with me through the mirror. Sighing he says. "Just please don't push yourself too hard again." He smiled at me before he turns and walks away. Saying that he was going to get some food.
I stared into the mirror. I knew exactly what he was talking about. Over a year ago I was practically a workaholic. Pushing myself too hard with work. Pushing myself to the point of me getting sick. It was bad. So bad that affected my playing. Subaru forced me to take time off until I got better. Him and the other three nursed me back to health. Barely leaving my side. Even the performers from Kiryu came and visited me. Once my health was back to normal they all kept reminding me to take things easy and not to push myself. It was sweet that they cared so much.
While I thought about this the stylist continued to get me ready. It took them ten minutes for them to finish. My purple hair was pulled up in a high ponytail. Shredded fabric of white and black was wrapped around he ponytail. My bangs covered most of the right side of my face. Dark makeup covered my eyes. One of my eyes had a contact in it. Making my my left eye look white instead of brown. I don't care what other people think, but I like the way I look with makeup on. Especially some of the cool things they do to me with makeup.
Thanking my stylist, I walked over to the rack that my outfit was hanging up at. Pulling it off the rack, I changed my clothes. The outfit looked a little bit like everyone else's. Yet different at the same time. Black leather pants that had white strips going up the side of the pants leg. The the belt had black, red, and white belt straps hanging off my waist. Along with the straps was a wolf tail. The short was a black and silver belly shirt. Made out of leather that only covered my chest. The back was held together by a few leather straps. Allowing my tattoo of angel wings, that cover my entire back, to show. Around my neck I wore a black scarf and on my arms leather arm warmers made out of black and white leather. I like this outfit. It looks cool. All of our outfits look cool.
Once my outfit was on, Tomoya came into the room. His shirt still missing. He smiled at me as he walked over to the clothes rack. Coming to put his shirt on. He eyes my outfit curiously. Nodding in approval. "Nice. I like it." He lifts up the wolf tail that hung off of my pants. His eyes travel to the back of the top. He snickered a bit. "Of course it shows off your wings."
I smiled at that comment. " of course my wings are showing. Most of my costumes show off my tattoo." I stated. Laughing a bit. Being able to relax a bit. "So where did everyone else disappear to?"
"Subaru is eating and helping set up. Kazuki is tuning his guitar. Oh and Koudai found that camera that he likes to use during the shoots." Tomoya tells me as he pulls his shirt from its hanger. He pulls the shirt on over his head. Making sure that he didn't mess up his hair.
Rolling my eyes, I continued to laugh. "Of course he found the camera." Koudai loves to film the behind the scenes footage to our music videos. If he wasn't than one of the workers would film us. We didn't mind. In fact we thought it was fun. We would mess around with the camera and good off in front of it. Acting like your typical teenage boy. Even though we weren't teenagers any more we still acted like one.
As Tomoya continued getting ready, I walked over to the nearest corner and sat down. Not feeling like standing anymore. The wall was cold against my bare back. My eyelids started to feel heavy from the horrible night sleep. Closing my eyes, I started to doze off. After a few minutes, Koudai came in with the camera. I could hear his voice calling my name. I lifted my head and saw him pointing a camera at me. I groaned and let my head fall back down. To tired to talk to him. He left after that. Going over to talk to Subaru. Talking about shoes or something like that. I'm not fully sure. I only picked up a few words here and there.
A little bit later, I felt a hand touch my shoulder. It startled me a bit. Jerking me out of my sleep. My eyes opened up. I blinked confusingly at the face in front of me. Tomoya's fave was the first thing I saw. He smiled kindly at me once he realized that I was awake.
"Hey, sleepy head." He laughed. "Time to get up. We're about to start filming." He holds his hand out for me to take. I gladly accepted his hand. He pulled me up to my feet. Letting go of my house, he lead me out onto the set.
Everything was set up. The back drop was a blue time portal looking thing that was castes on to the back wall by a projector. The lights were all set up. Giving the room a perfect lighting. All of my friends were there. Patiently waiting for me. I smiled guiltily at them. Knowing that they were waiting for me to wake up. I walked over to my clear guitar. I looked at the other four. Subaru was in front of a microphone. Kazuki had his guitar. Koudai had his bass. And Tomoya sat down at his drum set.
A camera man counted down from ten. Hitting one the music started playing and we started to play along to the music. Doing what we usually do for music videos. The instruments started the song and then Subaru started to sing. His voice filling the air. About half way through the song he walked over to me. Pressing his back up against mine. Still playing my guitar. For some odd reason, when he did that I felt my heart stop for a second. I shrugged it off. Telling my self that it was nothing and continued playing.
The recording went flawlessly. All it took was one recording. No retakes. Setting my guitar down, I walked over to the table that was covered in snacks. Aren't we healthy, I thought to myself. As I was searching for what I wanted to eat, Kazuki, Koudai, and Tomoya came up to me. Each of them smiling mischievously. They all shared a glance.
I looked at each of them. A little bit worried of what they were planning. "What are you guys doing?" I asked. Curiosity getting the best of me.
"We talked to the staff and they said that we are allowed to explore the rest of the building. Koudai says, holding up a hand held camera. "According to the staff there are quite a few set rooms that would be fun to mess around in." He chuckled. His hand covering his mouth.
My eyes traveled to each of their faces. Trying to figure out if I should go with them or not. All three of their eyes were full of excitement. I felt a smile creep across my lips. I sighed. "I might as well." Besides if I didn't I would be all alone. Subaru was busy getting his picture taken.
I swear their smiles grew twice the size it was. If that was even possible. Kazuki grabbed my hand and pulled me along with them. All of them discussing on where we should go. Koudai already had the camera recording our little adventure. To sum up our adventure it was very weird. Breaking a phone, me falling out of a closet, me almost breaking my costume, to us acting like we were working in an office.
After about an hour of this we were called down for some photos and more filming. Each of us getting our own photo and filming time. Towards the end we got together for a group photo and we filmed one last thing for our video.
We all went into the changing room to get changed out of our outfits. Since filming was over we were all planning on going out. So we didn't want to get our outfits messed up. Luckily for us we had the cloths that we showed up in. I left my hair up in it ponytail. Leaving all the shredded material in my hair. I really liked how it looked.
While I was changing into my black pants Subaru came up to me. He was already dressed. Wearing faded blue jeans and a white t-shirt. "Hey, where do you want to go eat? Koudai says McDonalds. I hope he's joking. And the other two don't care." He says, smiling at me. His white teeth showing.
I smiled at him. "How about we go to a café." I suggested. Wanting to get a nice cup of coffee. Also there was a café that was just down the street. In walking distance. So that would be nice.
Subaru draped an arm over my shoulder. Making my heart jump a beat. Why have I been so jumpy all day? Surly I wasn't still thinking about that dream. Was I? He's one of my best friends. He's touched me a thousand times before. So why was I being so jumpy?
"Sounds good." He says. Smiling at me. His brown eyes gleaming in the light as he spoke. "Once everyone is ready we'll head out." He seemed like he was going to say more but was interrupted as a voice filled the air.
"SUBARU..." Someone called from the door way of the dressing room. We all looked up at the same time. Even though we knew exactly who it was. Yoko. Subaru's girlfriend. She stood in the doorway. A smile on her face. Her curly black hair fell below her shoulders. Her eye lashes heavy with mascara. She waved at us all.
Leaving my side, Subaru walked over to her with open arms. Giving her a loving hug. The hug turned into an embrace as he leaned in and kissed her. I watched them out of the corner of my eyes. Quickly looking away as I felt a sudden sadness shot through my body. I tried to ignore the feeling as I put my shirt on. But even with my eyes not on them, I could still hear them. " hey, baby. We were just about to go out to a café. Would you like to come?" He invites her.
I could hear her laugh a bit. Her laugh was one of those cute seductive laughs. She does this often to get Subaru's attention. "Of course. I would love to join you." She purrs.
Great. She's coming with us. Why should I care that she's coming? Am I jealous? I mean, I'm not a huge fan of Yoko, but I've never felt this emotion towards her. It was strange and annoying. Tomoya must have noticed my annoyed look, for he gave me a questioning look. I shrugged it off. Not wanting them to find out how I was really feeling. They don't need to know. Manly because I don't understand what I feel.
