My heart jumped at the sound of the howl that reached our ears. It was low and menacing, almost like a warning. The sound cut off suddenly and I pried Sehun's hand off my mouth, studying his reaction.

"What the hell was that?!" I whispered, "We don't have wolves in--"

Sehun snatched my wrist and began yanking me towards the dark forest. I dug my heels into the ground and pulled back. Why is he trying to get me into the woods this late at night?

"Stop! Why are you doing this?"

He opened his mouth to reply but was cut off again by the howl. This time...it sounded louder, closer, and much more like a snarl. Sehun's grip tightened on my wrist and the sound of someone crunching over the dead grass and leaves silenced my protest. Although I couldn't see very well in the darkness, I felt an overwhelming sense of dread and evil emanating from the unknown thing approaching us.

Sehun took off then, taking me with him into the forest. We crashed through the woods, and I tripped several times over rocks and roots, but he kept me close, basically dragging me as we ran. How could he see so well in these conditions? We skidded to a stop, almost slipping over the edge of a steep hill.

I heard Sehun curse under his breath and I tried to calm my heavy breathing. Suddenly, he roughly grabbed my shoulders and pushed me behind the base of a thick tree trunk, hunkering down with me.

Our eyes locked and he motioned for me to keep quiet. The sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the forest and the same scary feeling washed over me. Without thinking I grabbed the sleeve of Sehun's black jacket and he looked down at me, his eyes searching mine. I jumped as the thing we were running from growled. Sehun reached for something by my foot and jerked his arm backwards towards the steep hill behind us. A rock flew through the air and disappeared over the side, making a lot of noise as it tumbled down the edge.

Lightning fast Sehun pulled his hood up and tilted his head down, angling his body so my view of whatever flew past us and slid down the drop off was hidden. The sound of a mini rock-slide reached my ears and then everything went silent.

Sehun's breath was cool against my skin and his entire body was tense as he hovered over me. I met his eyes and we were close enough for me to see the flecks of green around his pupils. He began to lean in closer and I froze, my breath hitching in my throat.

His lips brushed my earlobe slightly as he whispered,

"If we stay here we'll die, follow me."

A/N: Where will Sehun take Baekhyun? What was following them? Find out in the next chapter! I hoped you enjoyed this part of Don't Call Me Monster!
