I unlocked the door to my dorm and stared sadly at the space.
My bed sat covered in books and unmade. The nightstand beside it had a half empty bottle of water and the lamp still on, lighting the room in a yellow glow. I crossed to the window and looked out across the field. From my dorm I could see the forest illuminated by the light of the moon in the night sky and I felt my eyes get misty as I stared through the trees. I'd spent the last three years trying to forget about that night and so far, it had worked. Until Sehun...Until he, as if knowing how I'd felt, reopened the wound in my chest.
~FLASHBACK~
"Baekhyunnie," The tall boy rested his head on my shoulder as we both stared up at the full moon from our dorm window, "Let's always be this close."
I smiled and poked him in the side, "We'll have to deal with each other for the next three years, I think we'll stay stuck like glue."
He stared down at me and his smile faltered slightly.
"Hyung," I whispered, "You're staring at me weird again."
I watched him laugh and he ruffled my hair, "Sorry. Since we don't have class tomorrow lets stay up all night and watch a movie! I'll sneak into the cafeteria and grab snacks."
I clapped my hands together and pointed at him, "Don't get caught! And be careful going across the field at night..."
....
That night my best friend disappeared and never came back. His bed sat across from mine untouched for the last three years, everything still in place. The movie we were going to watch still in the case and his opened journal resting on the pillow. I crossed to his desk where we used to stay to stay up and study together, picking up the red sweatshirt he used to always wear. Now it was shredded completely in the front, as if a bear or mountain lion had clawed it. This sweatshirt had been hanging from a tree in the forest, the only trace of Chanyeol they'd found.
I pulled back the covers on my bed and folded myself into them, clutching the sweatshirt to my chest and squeezing my eyes shut. I just wanted the memories to go away, for it to be like I never met him so I wouldn't have to suffer every night of not knowing whether he was dead or alive....
Suddenly the temperature in the room seemed to drop ten degrees and I got the chilling feeling of someone watching me. I slowly opened one eye and glanced towards my window.
Two glowing yellow eyes were staring back at me from the other side.
A/N: So Baekhyun and Chanyeol were best friends but maybe, did Chanyeol feel differently about him? What really hapened to Chanyeol and how did his sweatshirt get torn? Also, who or what is spying on Baekhyun? Find out in the next chapter! I hope you enjoyed this part of Don't Call Me Monster!
