Jongdae walked into school on that rainy day, dreading his choice to actually attend.

of course, he only went for that daily smile from Minseok.

'he probably smiles at everyone. you're not special.' Jongdae thought to himself.

they shared one class together. period 3. that was the period before lunch. Jongdae started to avoid lunch because he had no one to sit by. he wasn't going to sit alone, of course.

as the bell rang, signalling the start of third period, Jongdae opened the door and walked in.

he took his seat in the back, directly behind Minseok.

he always felt insanely nervous around that boy. he never knew why. he didn't have feelings for him, right?

the teacher arrived to class and began to teach the lesson.

about midway through, Jongdae started to feel a lot of anxiety and an uneasiness in his stomach.

resisting the urge to vomit, Jongdae stood up immediately and ran out of the room.

he ran down the hall to the bathroom as fast as he could and puked into a toilet.

of course, Jongdae being the forgetful person he is, he forgot to close the stall door before exploding.

"Hello? Are you okay?" he heard from behind him. it was a voice he found slightly familiar... but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

he flushed the toilet and stood up. as he turned around, far too quickly, he fell into the arms of the one and only, Minseok.

extremely embarrassed, he covered his face and Minseok stood him back up.

"I heard about Yixing... are you okay?" Minseok asked shyly.

Jongdae looked at Minseok with a sad expression.

"I'm okay, but it's been hard I guess." he said softly.

"I um.. I don't know if it would help at all but- I'm here for you if you need it." Minseok muttered as he passed Jongdae a hot pink sticky note with numbers scribbled on it. "You can text me or call me anytime. You don't have to go through things alone."

Jongdae took it in complete disbelief.

"This isn't fake, right? Like, this isn't just a prank?" Jongdae questioned.

"Not at all. I'm serious. I'm here." Minseok responded.

Jongdae smiled at him and thanked him.

"I'm going to just clean up now. I don't know what caused that sickness but it's gone now."

Minseok bowed lightly and exited the bathroom.

Jongdae leaned up against the sink, looking at himself in the mirror.

'This better not be a prank. He seemed serious so...' he thought.

Jongdae rinsed out his mouth and returned to class.

he explained to his teacher after class about what happened and she understood.

instead of going to lunch, Jongdae went to his favourite part of the school. the abandoned level.

there was a very top level of their school that was used for offices. but now, all it is is empty storage rooms.

it's usually locked, but he has a key that he stole from his mother when she used to be an employee.

on this specific day, he just so happened to forget to lock it back up.

he went to his regular room. 378. it contained brown cardboard boxes and a surprisingly comfy couch. that's where he always takes naps.

he laid down, closing his eyes until he heard footsteps.

he tried to ignore them and continue sleeping, but it got louder.

eventually, the steps stopped when they reached room 378.

he opened his eyes and shot a glare at whoever it was.

"Oh, Jongdae. It was just you. I was worried this area was robbed." Minseok smiled.

Jongdae smiled and nodded, closing his eyes once again.

"Do you uh, mind if I hang out with you until lunch is over?" Minseok asked.

Jongdae looked at him again in disbelief.

"You want to hang out with me?" he questioned. Minseok nodded. Jongdae nodded and Minseoks eyes lit up.

Jongdae sat up on the couch and Minseok sat down next to him.

"Wow, this couch is comfy." Minseok pointed out.

"I know. I always come here to nap." Jongdae said.

"How do you get in here?"

"I have a key. Don't tell anybody though. I love it here."

"I won't. I promise. I should start coming here with you to take naps too. I love naps." Minseok smiled, looking over to Jongdae.

their eyes met and Jongdae felt a feeling quite stronger than before. it was a feeling he had never felt for a friend. a feeling so strong, that it made him smiled uncontrollably.

"You can come here anytime. I'm giving you special permission. No one else can know this is here."

Minseok nodded.

"Are you gay?"

Jongdae's head snapped to look at Minseok.

"I uh.. um I-"

"It's okay. I knew you were still in the closet."

Jongdae's face turned beat red. losing confidence, he looked away.

"Let me ask something else," Minseok added, "Have you ever felt the urge to kiss a boy?"

Jongdae looked to Minseok with a shocked expression.

Minseok scooted closer to him every few moments.

not having an answer, Jongdae just nodded.

he had no idea what was happening at the moment.

Minseok grinned and scooted away.

"I knew I could get you to admit it. You don't want anyone to know right? I can keep it a secret." Minseok asked.

Jongdae felt lost. Minseok had totally just teased him to get the answer out of him.

"I don't really care it people know, I guess..." Jongdae said quietly.

"I knew you were gay from the start."

"What? How?"

"Something about you just gives me the feeling. It's hard to explain." Minseok laughed.

Jongdae laughed nervously and wiped the sweat off of his forehead.

what a strange day....
