Arriving at school just seemed so
different but the same, the fact that I would never see the glistening beach outside my window, that I would never be able to spend another moment with the people I loved, the fact that I would have to start all over.
As I walked through the gate I was immediately greeted by my four friends, Lillian, Phillip, Marzia and Tyler.
"Hey Josephine!"
"Hi Joseph!"Said my friends, each person greeting me with a hug.
"Hey guys" I said with a fake smile strapped on my face.
"What's wrong" asked Tyler, putting a hand on my shoulder.
I had to tell my friends, there was no point in keeping it a secret.
"I'm moving away." I told them, a single tear rolling down my face.
"WHAT!" They all screamed at once, drawing attention to our small group.
"Since when." Shouted Lillian.
"Well my parents told me a few weeks ago but I had forgotten." I told them.
"Please tell me this is a joke." Begged Phillip.
"I'm afraid not, I'm moving away to London in a week."
I took my glare to the hard concrete below, not baring to see my friends shocked faces. As more tears began to roll down my face I was surprised to see my four friends rapping their arms around me at once. I took my arms out of the small huddle and stretched my arms around the group hug.
"You guys are the greatest friends I could have asked for" I told them.
"I still can't believe your moving, after all the fun shit we did you've got to go now." Spoke Tyler, his fist scrunched with frustration.
"Even when you do leave we'll never forget you." Marzia told me.
As they all took there arms away I wiped my eyes with the tough sleeve of my sweater.
"Don't worry I'm sure your new school will be great." Spoke Lillian, rubbing my back in comfort."
"Thanks." I replied.Getting through the day was rough, most of my time was just used staring off into the distances, glaring at one thing for a moment before Tyler would occasionally shake at my shoulder to put my attention back on the teacher in front. I usually never take my attention away from my work but this time I had nothing to think about besides the fact I was moving away.
As the words of the teacher began to blur into silence the class was interrupted by the loud hum of the bell, dismissing everyone into lunch.
"Come on" said Tyler "we've got to go, everyone's waiting outside." He told me.
"Yeah I know." I replied, my face as drowsy as ever.
"Don't be sad, we'll always stay in contact, besides we'll plan something fun to do before you go."
"Thanks."
As we walked out of the class I was greeted by the rest of my friends who each gave me a small hug.
"You feeling better?" Asked Phillip.
"A little bit a guess." I replied.
"Hey, it'll all be ok in the end, I'm sure this new school with be great as well." Lillian told me, putting her hand on my shoulder, making a small delightful smile on my face.
"Thanks you guys" I said to them.
"No problem" they replied all at once.
Well all began to break out into a small pond of laughter until we went off to go eat lunch.Luckily eating lunch with my friends once more did make me feel better. To hear myself laugh along with their jokes, to be able to relate to ever word they said just brought a smile to my face but tears to my eyes, it made me feel so grateful that I had such great people as friends.
But the moment I'd thought about loosing them made my heart drop into my stomach once more, the fact that In just one week all of this would be gone and replaced.
