A week had passed since I had moved into my new surroundings. I had almost settled into my house but just a few boxes had yet to be apart of the house. But today was the day I would start a new, today was my first day of my new school.
As I awoke, a golden hot sensation general rested on my face, bringing the urge to turn my head. I brought my hand to my face and slowing opened by eyes to the new surroundings. Lifting myself up, the morning sun seems to brighten my mood, telling me of what great things would lie ahead.
As I would every other day of the week I would get up, get dressed, brush my teeth and head downstairs for breakfast. It felt a little weird wear an unfamiliar uniform but that didn't mind me, all that was on my mind was how many amazing opportunities lay ahead.
Running downstairs I was of course immediately greeted by my parents who as usual had already made me breakfast.
"Morning hon, your ready for your first day at school?" Spoke my mum, a greeting smile on her face.
"Yep!" I replied.
"Well ya better hurry, school starts at nine."
"Ok, has dad already left for work?" I asked.
"Yeah, he left about an hour ago, he's got quite a bit of work to get through so he'll be home late."
"Ok."
With those final words being said I quickly finished off my breakfast and before I knew it I was already standing before my new school.

It was so HUGE. Nothing like the schools back home and of course I'm terrified. All these unfamiliar faces just seemed to make me uncomfortable, uneasy even. Some of the looks the people gave me were so intimidating, it looked as if they thought I was from another universe, probably cause of my unusual hair and skin.
Taking a big breath I take myself into the school gates and blending myself into my new surroundings, bracing myself for what had to come.
Luckily I had printed out a map the night before so I knew what I was doing and where I was going, and of course It made me look kind of pathetic.
Finding my new class was a bit of a struggle, It even forced me to ask people for directions, confusing them with my thick Italian accent.
Eventually I found my class and before the bell rang too, thank god.
As I walked in there were already people seated and many standing over others making conversation, luckily the teacher left a table with my name on it to indicate where I sat.
"So cliché" I muttered under my breath. "The end desk near the window."
Rolling my eyes I took myself to my desk and waiting for what was to come next.
Not even minutes after I entered the room a tall figure entered the room, his curly blonde hair, stiff as it it weren't even hair, his glasses seeming to slide down his face forcing him to taking his hand to push them back into place, his thick sweater patterned with navy blue and pale yellow, from the looks of him he seemed like a typical, jerky teacher, till I heard his voice.
"Good morning class." He spoke, his voice soft and high pitched but not unusual, of course spoken in a thick British tone.
"Morning."
"Meh."
"Hello sir." The class replied, slow and effortlessly.
Placing the thick books he had grasped in his arms he adjusted his thin glasses once more, setting his eyes on, you guessed it, me.
"If you are all aware we have a new student joining us."
Shit, I thought.
Would you like to introduce yourself.
No
"S...sure."
Standing up, every sharp eye of course turned to me, making me more shaken than I already was.
"H..hi, my name is Josephine, I'm 15 years old and I've just moved here from Italy, I'm not too good with english so I do apologise if I make any mistakes."
I could tell from all the confused faces I didn't make much sense with the thick accent that covered up my pronunciations but I couldn't give much of a shit cause I could help it.
"It's very nice to meet you Josephine, I'm Mr Wellington, I hope the class makes you feel welcome."
I nodded as a simple ok and sat back down, my eyes turned to my hands which were locked within each other.
As the class began all that was said was just nonsense to my ears, I didn't understand much of the lesson for I was only familiar with the english words I was taught, but I knew I'd understand it someday, it would just take time.
At least an hour passed an the bell rang, my heart dropped. I realised that I would have NO clue where or what class to go to. As I stood up I felt a touch to my shoulder, a hand, small and fragile. Turning around I see a girl, her hair thick and curly, short to wear it reached her ear and coated a thick orange, her skin soft and pale and her smile seeming to brighten even the darkest of rooms.
"Hey there, I'm Claire, I figured that you didn't know what class to go to so would you like me to show you." She spoke, a voice with a tone so soft and pure it could put the roughest people at peace, her golden brown eyes fixed on mine.
Thank god, I thought to myself.
"Oh yes thanks, that'd be helpful." I replied.
Walking out of the classroom I showed her the timetable that supposedly told me what class I had next.
"Hey your in most of my classes, sweet." She told me.
Sweeping more relief to my mind.
"So what do we have next?" I asked.
"Oh we have Science, the teachers a real dick but we never do much anyway."
"Oh ok." I replied as Claire grabbing at my wrist, dragging me to the next class.

We spent most of that lesson with each other, just talking about life and telling stories. I was surprised how quickly I had made a friend, she seemed so kind and sweet, she reminded me a lot of Lillian. While we talked I couldn't get over the fact of how kind she was, back at home it took me at least two weeks to make new friends when I entered high school, I knew that this was going to be a great start to my new life.
