"You saw that too, right?!"
Dotty had a concerned look in her eyes.
I swear, this cat is the only one that gets me.
"I don't even know.. Shit. Maybe I was tired.."
No. What I saw was too real to be some hallucination. Dotty started to thwack her tail softly, as most cats did when they were annoyed or feeling threatened.
I started breathing heavily.
The image of his emotionless face was engraved into my mind.
The highrock was my spot.. Dotty and I had been going there since she was a kitten.
Now, I wasn't so sure.
"Heya kitty.. Do you want to sleep here tonight? It's kind of chilly out there. "
She began purring and rubbing against me.
It's like she's a human with fur.
I shook my head with a smile.
"What would I do without you, cat?"
She waved her tail proudly.
I closed my window and locked it, scared eternally of what I had saw.
The face looked murderous.
The boy was short for a guy. Considering I'm only a little under 5'4, he did have the advantage of looking down on me. Even from the highrock, I could see that.
My mind wasn't cleared, and I knew the only way that it could be cleared.
Pot.
But.. Dotty was there. And, I couldn't do that. Could I?
Well, fuck. It's only once. And I'll do it out the window.
"Okay dotty, just hang on a second.
I unzipped my jeans and left them on the floor, while I pulled on dark blue pajama pants with some lightsh snowflakes on them.
Festive, eh?
I slipped off my Ramones shirt as I didn't want it to reek of weed, and I put on my rings of Saturn shirt.
I recalled how I used to longboard while listening to their deathcore.
Back when I was still with dad.
I sighed, unzipped my backpack and took out my pipe. I pulled a small bit of dope off of the bud. I placed it in the bowl, and opened up my window. Slowly, I raised it to my mouth with my finger on the carb and lit the green substance. I inhaled deeply, than breathed out tons of smoke out the window.
I repeated the process until I was stoned.
I hid my pipe in my bag which I shoved in the closet and realized how doing it out the window really helped. My room didn't smell or was smoked out at all. And with this technique, dotty would be fine.
I locked the door and stumbled to my bed, plopping on it while scrambling under the covers. Dotty purred and snuggled into my arms. She rarely got to sleep with me, so I treasured her warm fur on my skin.
I pushed the thought of the mystery boy to the back of my head and hummed the song, Needles and Pins.
'I saw her today,
I saw her face,
It was a face I loved, and I knew,
I had to run away,
And get down on my knees and pray
That they'd go away,
And still they begin,
Needles and pins,
Because of all my pride,
The tears I gotta hide,
Needles and pins.."
