"So." I said while sitting in the car turning to buckle my seat belt.
He turned and looked at me.
"Why are you doing this?" He asked.
Honestly, I was asking myself the same question, why am I doing this? I started the car and looked at him.
"Look, if I'm gonna be honest I have no clue, I usually never talk to anyone and this has been the longest conversation I've had with someone in years. You just looked so sad and I wanted to-" I stopped before I could say it. You wanted to what? Make him happy? But that's not it it was something else, but I didn't-I couldn't tell him that I liked him, that would be weird.
"Tabi?" He said.
I looked up at him, my eyes started to burn. The only person who called me that was Jess. Jess was the only person who could make me happy. I shook my head to get rid of my foggy thoughts.
"It's nothing" I said and pulled out of the parking lot.

At the library

I sat down at the table closest to the window. If Andrew wasn't here I would be pulling out my book or doing my homework right about now.
Andrew sat down in the seat across from me.
"So, tell me about yourself." I said with a smile.
"I'm not that interesting." He said looking down at the table.
"You don't have to be interesting, I just want to talk to you" I said. He slowly looked up at me and smirked. I started to blush thinking how silly that sounded.
"Well, I'm not from Ohio. I'm from Iowa. I have never done any drugs in my entire life," he said.
"Good start." I said smiling.
"I-um-I have a younger sister named Emily and... And I have my mom and dad." He said and then looked down at the table.
Why? I asked myself. Why wasn't I thinking. I placed my hand on his and he looked up his eyes searching my face for an answer. He was a little shocked, I was too. I realized what I was doing and moved my hand abruptly away from his and looked away and I could feel my face heating up. And then I heard him laugh. It was a short one, like a chuckle, deep, and it made me happy to hear. Then I looked back at him and he was smiling.
"What?" I said.
"You're ad-" but he stopped. He got up and grabbed his bag his smile already gone as quick as it came.
"I have to go." He turned without looking at me and ran to the door of the library.
