People often judge others by the way they look or how popular they are, if you have many friends. These kind of people tend to hurt other's feelings, by isolating them and bad mouthing them. The victims of these type "bullying" always feel left out and they often blame their character or attitude for being isolated by the so called "cool people ".

I was no different, I was always being left out and I always thought that it was because the way I look or because I was just not meant to be. I thought my life was meaningless, because sometimes silence is the worst kind of insult you could get....... Never was I liked by many, sometimes I doubted that people liked me at all. I guess you could say that I never had many friends. Well, that's the life of the girl who thought she meant nothing to anyone until...... she found hope. By the way, that girl's name is Natalia Nightingale.

It was the start of her first high school year for Natalia, she wasn't very happy to be back in school though. The day started well for her. Natalia's mom, Athena Nightingale was a jovial artist and had a great amount of passion for art and culture and she was in the kitchen flipping a few of her famous pancakes.

'Natalia, hurry up and eat your pancakes! Your gonna be late for school', shouted her mom. Natalia knew better than to get on her mother's bad side, so she hurried down stairs from her room, her ebony locks tide into a ponytail , she wore a simple blue turtle-neck and a black pants. As soon as she reached the dining table, she shoved a pancake into her mouth. Not caring to drink any water, Natalia quickly got up and sprinted to her mom's car.

'Blimey Natalia, you're gonna get yourself hurt one day, sprinting like that', muttered her mother. 'Yeah, well be sure to not rush me again. Besides it's only like 8.30, school starts at 9.10. What's the rush?' Mrs Nightingale just smiled at her growing daughter and walked out of their house, locking it. She got into the car with Natalia and turned on the engine. Today was going to be a long day she thought.

When they arrived, Natalia got out of the car with her schoolbag. She bid her mom goodbye and walked towards the entrance of her high school. She sighed. Today she was gonna be herself and not let her guard down. Today was the day.

She started walking to her locker, when she saw a group of girls surrounding it. She recognise them immediately, they were her arch-enemies. They seemed to notice Natalia, a girl with golden hair sneered, her name was Yvonne Saycliffe. She was one of the meanest girls Natalia has ever met, in 1st Grade she poured orange juice on her hair and made everyone laugh at her. 2nd Grade was even worst, she made rumours about her family and said that she was adopted. That took Yvonne all the way to the principle's office, she got suspended for a week. But that only made the case worst. Not only did she pledge to ruin Natalia's life but she also had some of her friends follow her around school and take pictures of any embarrassing stuff that happened to her. Sometimes, they would be the ones causing the scene.

There were two other girls standing behind her. One had brown hair and gray eyes, another one had red hair with brown eyes. She knew them well, they were Yvonne's sidekicks. Samantha McLean and Michelle Taryn. They were almost as evil as Yvonne but, Michelle was only with Yvonne because she didn't want to end up like me. Sigh.

They were staring at me in class. I didn't really like the feeling of having a few pair of eyes on my back. Unfortunately, I was put in the same class as Samantha, Yvonne and Michelle. It was going to be hell. Oh well, being me was never easy.

We were in Art Class (my favourite subject), our teacher Mrs. Dean made us paint a picture of ourselves. Being an excellent student in art, thanks to my mom. I was looking at a mirror and trying to draw my eyes without a single mistake. I knew I would get an A+ for this.

When I was done, everybody in class clapped (exclude Yvonne and her cronies), they said it looked perfect. Well, I guess that was the last straw for Yvonne. She walked up to me and that's where it all started.

'Please, don't make me puke. You guys call this perfect, if you ask me there's nothing perfect about this sorry excuse for a face', she spat as she took my drawing and started working her trash all over it. 'Let me see', Yvonne took a brush and started doodling paint all across the painting of my face. ' There, you see Natalia. This is how you really look', with that she grabbed a cup of dirty water (the water we used to wash up our brushes) and poured every drop on my shirt. The whole class laughed at me, I couldn't take it anymore. I ran out of the class crying silently. I reached the ceremony hall of my school. Even if I wanted to get back to the classroom, I couldn't because I didn't know how to. I was lost and I didn't have a clue how to get back. I was doomed.

I just sat at a corner and sobbed. I was deep in thought until it was all interrupted by this sweet melody I was hearing. It came from the room next to the ceremony hall. I was scared, but I got up, wiped my tears and walked towards that room. My gaze went to a piano that was currently occupied by a girl. She had black hair and wore spectacles that seem to have no frame. She wasn't much to look at, but to me I could see passion. Something told me that this girl had a thing for music. She was suddenly aware of my presence. Something that never happened before. She had a kind smile on her face. Although not flawless but it was the best thing I've seen today.

'You seem to have had a bad morning. Want to tell me what happened', there I was being treated kindly by a stranger. I have never been talked to this nicely before, somewhere inside of me I knew that me and this pianist were gonna be good friends.

She patted the seat next to her, I in desperate need of some friendship was more than happy to except her offer.

'Sorry, I'm yet to introduce myself. My name's Angelina Cave, and you are?'

'Oh, my name's Natalia Nightingale. I just had a really bad morning that's all'

'I can see that you don't want to be pushed further, never mind. I'm a new student here and I was just trying out this piano, it seems to be old that's why it didn't sound like how it's suppose to'.

'But it sounds pretty good to me', I said, Angelina just smiled I guess she knew that I had no experience in music.

'You need to hear it closely and you need to feel it', she said with a smile. Whatever this it was, IT was really getting to my head. At least I met a new friend. A friend I've been waiting for.
