I'd gotten so many stares, no doubt in response to the events of yesterday. No one says anything but they all stare as if I was someone different than the girl the day before yesterday. I decided to eat my lunch quickly before hiding in the library until my next class. Luckily they served corn dogs so once I got to my table, I took a huge bite eating over half of it. I took one more bite and it was gone before I downed it with milk. I get the sudden urge to look around me when I see DC staring at me his eyes wide and his mouth hanging open. I raise my eyebrow at him but he didn't say anything. Blue starts laughing at us out of the corner of his eye, obviously understanding something I didn't.
Maybe it was a guy thing?
"What's wrong with DC," I ask.
"He's turned on," Blue says. "He thought the way you downed that corn dog was hot. Pretty impressive if I do say so myself."
"No he's not," I say my face turning red.
"Then what's that surprise in his pants? And please don't say it's a banana." My face is burning when I glance over at DC and my eyes grow big before I cover my face. DC eventually recovered by saying only four words.
"Fuck that was hot." I blush deeper as he sits beside me, his eyes still on me as if he was replaying what had happened in his head.
"Oh right. Anani I wanted to ask you what are you doing on Monday?" I shake my head afraid to talk still.
"Well I'm turning twenty so my dad is throwing this party in the southern kingdom for me, kind of like a ball that’s traditional for people like me. Anyway, I was hoping you'd come with me," he finishes. My head turns toward his which is already so close to mine, maybe three inches away. He smiles, my heart speeding up in response and I can't help but smile too. I can't help but get lost in his grey stormy eyes that smile down at me as if he didn't have a care in the world. I hear faint finger snaps in the distance that breaks me away from my daydream.
"Staring at him isn't an answer Anani, although, I think he prefers it," Terra said, a smirk on her face.
"Hell yeah I do," he says before I could say anything. He takes my face in his hands and turns me to Terra and Blue. "Just look at this face. I can't believe I haven't kissed her yet."
"Why don't you," Blue asks.
"Because cupcake here hasn't given me permission to. As soon as she says yes, then those lips are mine," DC replied. He was brutally honest, more so than usual, putting all his feelings out in the open. I felt like I was gonna explode from all of this teasing. Now I know DC likes me, which is a huge relief on my part, but he doesn’t know that I like him yet. I wasn’t good with expressing myself like this so I look to Terra for help and she smiles.
"She likes you so have you asked her yet," Terra asks.

Before I could finish the thought DC turns me towards him so now we see into each other's eyes. He glances between my eyes and my lips before taking a deep breath.
"Anani," he says, his voice serious "can I please kiss those beautiful, sexy lips of yours right now?" I froze, my face on fire. We had the attention of the entire courtyard now and I didn't like it. But hell yeah did I love what he just said. I almost say yes. Instead I panic, stand up quickly and run off to the library leaving everyone, specifically a shocked DC, behind.
School ends and Terra goes to the library leaving me and DC alone as we walked home. We both avoided the subjects that occurred during lunch until we got to the apartment complex.
"You never really answered my question today," DC said. I thought it over all day long about it, missing most of my lessons daydreaming about DC kissing me and it was not a bad sight. I couldn't imagine how it felt though. That information required experience that I didn’t have yet.
