He took my head in his hands and my eyes watched his as my heart sped up. He says my name and I freeze as he closes the distance between our lips. Our lips were a millimeter away when the theater doors opened , making DC curse under his breath.
"Oh. Um, sorry," said a pretty redhead, stepping through the door, "your father said you're in charge of your party now so I thought I should give you the file of things that need to be finalized by the end of the day. I don't know what you did that led him to this, but good luck."
She handed DC some papers and he stood up to take them.
"Thanks a lot Marilee," he says looking annoyed. She raises her arms defensively.
"Jesus, I’m just doing my job. It's not my fault you didn't kiss her. Everybody’s mad at me now," she mumbled on her way out. DC exhales deeply before peering at me. He looked like he wanted to continue what we started a while ago. He leaned down once again but kissed my forehead instead of my lips.
"Sorry," he says. "I didn't ask your permission." I smile widely and let out a laugh.
“DC you don’t have to ask,” I say.
He looked at me confused so I get up, both of us now standing up. He's still a head taller than me so I stand on my tip toes and wrap my arms around his neck as I bring my lips to his.
Sparks literally flew around us as he gripped at my bare waist, pulling me closer to him. Fire lit up my soul making it come alive. I could feel it jump with joy as it found its mate, it's partner in crime, it's other half. His tongue asks for entrance into my mouth and I let him. As he deepened the kiss he took his hands from my waist up to my face while my fingers get tangled in his hair. I let out a small sigh of content. DC takes a step closer causing me to lose my balance and we both fall back onto the couch, breaking our embrace. We're both breathing heavily since we were too into the moment that we forgot we actually needed oxygen to live and not just each other. DC looked at me and then my lips before back at my eyes.
"That was.. Woah," he says. "That's what it's like to kiss your soulmate? Anani, you just... wow. Damn. Can I kiss you again?" He says. I smile and nod as he brought his lips to mine again taking my world by storm, a welcomed intruder. He shifts us around until I'm lying flat on the couch and DC hovering over me. My heart is going ninety miles per hour and my brain is functioning like it's on LSD and I wouldn't have it any other way as his tongue explored my mouth. My hands played around in his hair again while his ran up and down my waist. I gasp when his lower body grinds on mine sending a shockwave of heated electricity to me. He groans slightly because we stopped kissing and his lips eagerly find mine again sighing happily when he does. I relax into him and enjoy the moment, hoping to remain eternally occupied. The kissing and grinding go on for a few more minutes before DC pulls away seeing how we forgot to breathe again. He smiles the biggest smile I've ever seen him wear as I continue playing with his hair.
"Damn I'm so lucky," he whispered and I blush. "Soulmates," he says into the air, "this is perfect. Anani this is perfect." He says. I smile in return at a loss for words. I never expected anyone to be this happy about kissing me although Emily was quite impressed. My heart fluttered as my eyes found his again. He sighs as he easily switches positions with me. Now I'm on top of him and he looks up at me, sparks in his eyes. I lie my head down on his chest and he wraps his arms around my back, holding on as if he couldn't believe I was real.
After a while of just lying there in silence I begin to panic. A lot of things ran through my mind, the first being that I don't think I'm ready for the bind that seals soulmates together. I only knew a few things about soulmates. The first thing you figure out is who your soulmate is, seeing as their aura is either the exact same, or the exact opposite of your own. You officially know after your first kiss. Next is the bind, a series of phrases that connects your spirits eternally allowing some amazing features: emotional understanding, telepathic communication, and soul seeker which finds your other half anywhere in the world. Then there's the Boundings, a series of sexual attraction where you find your partner utterly irresistible. You'd find yourself loving every single thing your soulmate did. Most people call it the mating season because…
