third person's pov

"i'm quite sorry you had to leave you at my house with my old man," amanda let out a sigh, "i honestly did not know my mom had planned to go visit our grandpa."

"don't worry, i had a nice time with your father." rose smiled as she talked into the phone, lightly teasing her short, curly as she sat in front of the mirror.

"well that's good, thank goodness he wasn't a bother."

i smiled, "well, i'll see you later amanda. i'm excited for our anniversary movie night." 

amanda responded with an excited "same" and hung up.

rose set down the house phone and walked towards her bay window, sitting in on the pillow and leaning her head against the wall. she looked out onto the front yard, watching the cars drive past, her breath (and the sound of the news playing from the living room television) being the only thing she could hear. since rose was alone she became lost in her thoughts, her mind trailing to mr. irwin. she thought about their interaction from yesterday. the way he looked made her heartbeat faster, the sun rays gleaming off his tan chest and stomach and the sun glasses that rested in his damp, curly hair. she closed her eyes as she thought about his hands and arms, the appendages that touched her lips less than 24 hours ago. her mind then landed on the one thing she didn't want to think about: mrs. irwin. while yes, that was mr. irwin's legal significant other, rose was deeply in love with this man. just seconds before mrs. irwin walked in, his hands were on rose's body. if mrs. irwin were to have seen that, she would have been upset and there's a chance rose would have never seen mr. irwin again. that goes for if anyone finds out for that matter. red rose wouldn't see the blue to her purple and everything would feel grey.

rose sighed and removed herself from the window, hoping a shower before her date with amanda could rid of her of the thoughts.
