third person's pov

amanda turned her body to face rose's, as she had came over rose's house to see if she was still sick. she wasn't and never was, but rose acted as if she still felt ill. the small hangover she had helping.

"my dad came home really late last night, he looked so flustered and uncomfortable. he was acting really weird too, maybe he was drunk? i'm not very sure." amanda's eyebrows furrowed as she sadly whispered these words. "i hope he isn't committing adultery."

rose acted as if she was upset and surprised, grasping amanda's hand. "don't think that. i'm sure he was probably our with colleagues."

amanda nodded and bit her lip, hoping the tears wouldn't start to fall, "i just wouldn't like if they got a divorce. i don't know how they work and they're scary. also, my parents used to be so in love and it would just all go down the drain."

rose started to feel a pang of guilt, closing her eyes and sighing. when she opened them, she saw teary-eyed amanda still staring at her. rose brought her right hand to her cheek, wiping away the few tears and smiling. "don't worry 'manda. honestly, because even if they got divorced you still have two parents and not one."

amanda's hand shot up to her mouth, shaking her head. "right, i'm so sorry rose--god, i need to stop taking them for granted."

rose smiled, "don't worry about it. it's fine, anyways if they were to get a divorce that means christmas and hanukah for you."

amanda let out a small laugh, "yeah, you're right." amanda paused, "i hope we make it ('till the day we're 28 years old)."

amanda and rose smiled at each other, amanda's eyes soon closing and her breathing calm as she fell asleep.

rose was still awake and lying on her bed, thinking, she sighed and turned over. her thoughts running off to mr. irwin.

her girlfriend's father.
