Spike paced furiously around his crypt as tonight's events flashed through his head. All he could feel was his pure vampire rage running through his veins.
"I'm beneath her?!" He yelled out to Harmony, his girlfriend who he didn't quite care much for. "Does she know who I am?" He ranted out loudly, now digging through his pile of weapons. "Well she's about to find out, now isn't she?"
Spike slammed his trunk full of weapons shut and marched towards the door. "Hey! What do you thinks going to happen?" Harmony's loud whining voice screeched as she stepped in front of him.
"Harmony, I've been meaning to do this for awhile-" Spike grabbed her shoulder and threw her towards the door. "Time for you to leave, nothing personal."
Spike opened the door rapidly and was off on his way to the Summer residence. As he approached the backyard of Buffy's house, and stepped over the threshold of her shrubs, he noticed Buffy was already on the porch sitting. Quickly his anger subsided.
"What's wrong" Spike asked her calmly as he lowered his gun down to his side, suddenly his change of emotion from anger to pure curiosity was over coming him.
"I don't want to talk about it" Buffy replied and looked away from Spike, she was embarrassed to be showing such vulnerability.
Spike had never seen Buffy so torn apart and upset, he was used to seeing her kept together and strong. At that exact moment of fury and confusion, every thought he had ever had about Buffy had been solidified. He loved her. He loved her in a way that was so deep it nearly brought him to tears to see her crying. In that exact moment she wasn't the slayer, she was Buffy Summers.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Spike asked quietly as he sat down next to her, something so simple he would never have imagined doing before, sitting casually with Buffy as she tried to hold back her tears.
"Kill me." She mumbled under her breath, the thought of finding out she could lose her mother forever was devastating.
Ironically enough, Spike slipped the gun he had brought with him under his jacket. "Buffy.. I.. I thought I heard a noise.. I didn't come here to..." Spike already knew she didn't believe him, but anything to fill the silence was good for him.
"I don't care." She had no desire to find out why Spike came to her horn with a gun.
"Buffy, how can I help you?" Spike asked once more, this time he placed his hand on her shoulder and leaned in closer to her.
"No..." She whispered once more.
The two were sitting out back on her backyard steps, when they both heard the front door open, Buffy quickly looked up.
"Ugh..., this is the last thing I need right now." She quickly tried to dry her wet face, but her makeup was already smudged.
Buffy realized Riley, her boyfriend, was home. Spike was curious to why Buffy didn't want to see him but figured it wasn't the right time to ask.
"Buffy? You home.?" Riley was running up the stairs to Buffy's room.
"I can't be here." Buffy walked towards the shrubs in her backyard to make a quick getaway, Spike quickly followed her, tossing his gun into bushes.
"Hey!, where are you going to go?" He asked curious, trying to catch up to her fast pace.
"I don't know.. Anywhere but home." Buffy was walking with her arms across her chest, barley watching out for traffic as she crossed the street.
