A call from the office

Percy and Annabeth took great pride in raising their children to be respectful. Their kids weren't  perfect angels of anything of the sort, the ADHD and Dyslexia prevented that, but all of their kids knew to respect authority. Which is why when they received a call from the principal saying that their daughter Becca was in the office for disrespecting her math teacher, the two adults were shocked. They immediately stopped what they were doing and went to the school. Neither were too angry, at least not yet. Percy and Annabeth were actually more shocked and confused than anything else.
When they got to the school, they were quickly escorted to the office. The sight that awaited them took them by surprise. An older lady, who they assumed was Becca's teacher, looked to be pouting in the corner. The principal was on one side of his desk while Becca was on the other her. Though they couldn't pick up on what she was saying, both of her parents noted how Becca had multiple papers in front of her. At the sight of the adults, the principal visibly sighed in relief.
"I am glad you two are here," the principal motioned for the two to sit down next to their daughter. "Please take a seat. I am going to get right to the point with you, Becca is here for arguing with and blatantly disobeying her teacher during class. Mrs. Jensen repeatedly asked Becca to stop talking but your daughter would not listen." At this point Becca scoffed which caused both of her parents to look at her with shock.
"Do I get to tell my side of the story anytime soon?" She questioned the adults. When no one answered, she looked at her parents. "So in class today, Mrs. Jensen passed back the tests that we took last week. You know the one that I studied really hard for." Both of her parents nodded. "According to how she grades, I got a 37% on it. Now before you flip out over the grade I got on it, take a look at both the questions I supposedly got wrong and my work that shows how I solved them. Most of what she marked me off for was solving it with a different, but might I add better, method. Or because the answer that I got using my method is different than the answer we were supposed to get with the method they taught us. I'd be able to understand why she'd mark me wrong for that, if she could explain where my equation that got me the right answer in other questions, went wrong. But she has yet to do that." Percy allowed his wife to look over the papers; Annabeth had always been better with numbers then him.
"That is beyond," the principal began to speak but Percy held his hand up and motioned for him to stay quiet. Annabeth focused better that way. The minutes began to tick by as Annabeth looked over each and every question that Becca got marked off for. Finally she looked up and said,
"This is all correct." Mrs. Jensen let out a frustrated groan.
"Not you too," she complained. "Parents are supposed to be the reasonable ones. Now with all due respect Mrs. Jackson, out of the two of us, I as the teacher am clearly more qualified and able to recognize whether an equation was solved properly or not." Becca and Percy looked at each and smirked; the teacher clearly didn't recognize who she was dealing with. Unlike her husband and daughter, Annabeth maintained a much calmer facial expression.
"As the lead architect on numerous high function projects that have taken place and are in the process of taking place throughout the world, I take pride in knowing how to solve my equations." Percy was biting his lip to stop himself from bursting out in laughter by this point. Annabeth continued. "But unlike yourself, I am willing to accept that I can make a mistake and still have things to learn. All I ask is that you show me where in her work, my daughter went wrong." Mrs. Jensen stuttered out a few words and then final silent. Annabeth looked at the principal who appeared to be at a loss of words. "With that settled I expect my daughter to receive the points that she was unfairly marked off on. May my husband and I leave now?" Snapping out of his shock, the principal said.
"There's still the matter of the fact that Becca is facing two days of out of school suspension for disrespecting her teacher in such an awful manner." Knowing that her husband was about ready to start a fight, Annabeth looked at him and shook her head lightly. Standing, she motioned for Becca and Percy to do the same. Looking down at the principal with disgust, Annabeth said,
"We'll take her with us now." Her tone almost sounded obedient until she added, "but I swear in the name of all the gods that your supervisors will be hearing about this." With that, she spun on the balls of the feet and walked out of the room. Percy and Becca followed closely behind her. Quietly to her father, Becca whispered,
"Hey dad, I think your sass is rubbing off on mom." Percy laughed and nodded in agreement. With that, the parents who were very proud of their daughter for doing well on her math test, decided to take a family trip to the local ice cream parlor as her reward.
