You Owe Me

"Why don't you just kill them, (Y/N)? They deserve it anyways and you know it."
"You know, Fa Zheng? If we weren't so close, I'd be questioning your way of life."
Fa Zheng gives a quick snort of laughter as you will your legs to run faster

~Earlier~

"Fa Zheng...? You in here?"

You shyly slide open the screen door to Fa Zheng's quarters. After the first few times barging in unannounced, you learned that he expected his privacy to be respected. You learned your lesson, that's for sure.
"Yes...what is it that you require?" Pulling the screen all the way aside, Fa Zheng is revealed, sitting amongst scrolls piled high on his desk. He seemed to be intently poring over each and every one of them.

"Oh dear, how long have you been holed up in here?"
"It's none of your concern, (Y/N)."
To any other person, the words would be considered bitter, but in reality he's like that with almost everyone.
"Well unfortunately for you," you start, striding over to Fa Zheng and laying a small hand on his shoulder. He tenses up and slowly swivels his head towards you, one eyebrow raised. "I am taking concern. You need to get out. Let's go get drinks!" You suggest this with a smile and squeeze his shoulder. He smacks your hand and resumes his work.
"Maybe later, (Y/N)."
"No," you declare, shaking your head. "We're going to get drinks now. Whether you like it or not." You grip the head of his chair, and begin to try to pull him backwards away from his desk. The huge difference in weight and strength makes it a little difficult for you. You manage to pull him an inch or two before he grips the edge of his desk defiantly.
"I said maybe later, (Y/N)!" He groans exasperatedly. Ignoring his pleas, you resume tugging on his chair.
"I'm-I'm doing this for you! So just- come on!" You tug his chair again, successfully moving it another inch or so away from the desk. Fa Zheng folds his arms. Realizing you couldn't pull him the rest of the way to the door, you walk around and put both your hands on Fa Zheng's shoulders. Maybe pushing him would work? Sadly, pushing him was just as fruitless as pulling him. Fa Zheng scoffs as he plants his feet harder on the ground.

"Oh hush you!" You scold. "You wouldn't mind making this easier for me would you?" You ask, pushing as hard as you can.
He smirks, never a good thing.
"If that is what you wish..." His feet give way, and the two of you topple to the ground. Your body aligns with Fa Zheng, and your body heat rises at the close proximity.
"Do you see something you like?" Fa Zheng asks sarcastically after a few moments of silence. You blush profusely, not realizing you were staring. Scrambling off of him, you huff: "You sank the boat you were working on just to kill the captain."
He chuckles darkly.
"I'll have to use that one day," Fa Zheng admits, standing up and brushing himself off.
"So now can we get out of here? It's depressing."
Fa Zheng sighs.
"Fine, but you owe me."
"You say that like I didn't already know."
-
The first few minutes of drinks were enjoyable. The two of you laughed, shared stories you hadn't shared before and the like.
"I'm going to go get some air, (Y/N)." Fa Zheng hops off of his stool.
"Alright. Try not to kill anyone, okay?" He shoots you a glance.
"No promises," is his response as he steps out into the brisk evening air.
You smirk into your glass of liquor, enjoying the warm, fuzzy feeling.

"H-hey girly...what do you say- we get out of h-here?"
You sigh inwardly. An obviously drunken man leans on the counter of the bar, reeking of alcohol and his eyes glazed over. The contents of his glass slosh, somewhat mesmerizingly. You take another sip of your drink.
"Hm, not interested." The man leans forward, warm and foul breath becoming more pungent. You wrinkle your nose in disgust.
How long did Fa Zheng say he was going to be out for air?
"If you lay even a finger on me, you're going to regret it," you threaten.
"C-come onnnn..." He slurs, daring to get even closer. "Don't be like that..." He lays a grimy hand on your wrist.

"Imbecile!" You take your drink and splash it in his face, storming outside.

"Fa Zheng we're leaving!"
The poor man was surrounded by a group of handmaidens, and he looked bored, dare you say, even uncomfortable. Muscling your way through the thick group of girls, you finally reach Fa Zheng.
"I was wondering what was taking you so long," you murmur.
"Hey!"
"We were here first!"
"Get your own man!"
I really don't have time for this.
"'My own man?' Fine!" Cupping the sides of Fa Zheng's face, you pull him in for a rough kiss. His eyes widen in surprise, before quickly fluttering shut. Fa Zheng firmly grips your waist and pulls you closer into him.
What am I doing? Kissing Fa Zheng? Was that really my best idea? He didn't really seem to mind, as he was enthusiastically kissing back. In the back of your head, you can hear the handmaidens groan, and frustratedly walk away. Reluctantly, you pull away, savoring the bewildered look on Fa Zheng's face.
"Um..."
"Erm... Forget I did that. Please." Your hipbones are released from his grasp, and you take a step backwards.

"T-there she is!" The drunken man from before, still dripping with liquor, stands a few meters away from you and Fa Zheng. The only thing different about him this time was that he had two, also drunken, and very angry men beside him. Both holding weapons, unfortunately.
"Get her!" The leader hiccups.
"What-"
"I'll explain later!" You grab Fa Zheng's hand and take off at a sprint, hoping to evade the men chasing you.

~Present~

"We should have brought means of defense!" Fa Zheng grumbles as we desperately weave through blocks of peasant housing, trying to escape the drunk men.
"Hell, we could defeat them without weaponry!" You shoot him a glare out of the corner of your eye.
"Then they'd be dead!"
"I don't see the problem," he admits. The goons get closer on your tail.
"Just run faster, please!"
The two of you round a corner, pressing yourselves to the wall in order to avoid being spotted. The men sprint right by you. You exhale a breath you didn't know you had been holding.

"You should have killed them," Fa Zheng hisses in a whisper.
"And what justice would that be? They're drunk; their minds are clouded, and it wouldn't be fair if we killed them for actions they more than likely won't recollect tomorrow morning."
Fa Zheng grimaces.
"They couldn't have gotten far! Spread out and search for them!"
You mentally kick yourself.
"All this because I threw my drink at him?" Fa Zheng looks at you incredulously. Footsteps rapidly approach.
"Do you trust me?" He hurriedly whispers.
"Wait, what are you-" and before you can finish your sentence you're pinned against the wall with Fa Zheng's body. He swiftly captures your lips and kisses you hungrily. Feeling in the moment, you slither your hands up his chest and around his neck, sliding your fingers through silky smooth hair. After what feels like hours, Fa Zheng pulls away.

"They're gone."
"What?"
"I said they're gone. They passed us while we were kissing." You felt a little hurt at that.
"Oh okay," you mumble, failing to hide your dejection. "That's good then. We should probably get back...it's getting dark." As you begin to move away, he roughly pushes you back against the wall.
"What the hell are-"
"You must have realized everything I've done for you is so that I'd have an excuse to see you," he says huskily. Your eyes widen at this.
"Coming from me...you can consider it a display of affection." He pulls you into his embrace, resting his chin on the top of your head.
"Fa Zheng! I-well-I mean...we can't do this! Not here at least!" You stutter in utter disbelief.
"I'll do what I please with you," he declares.
"Because you owe me."
